Post by: sunspark on September 25, 2020, 06:25:05 AM
Hi guys

I would like to upgrade a virtual Mivb from V8 to V9, do I have to deploy a new VM in V9, run the Migration tool to recover a validated backup and then make a clear hardware Id of the VM on V8 and do then a restore  on the V9?

do you have the right method please ?

Hi,

As found in the migration guideline:

1.1 Perform the pre-migration audit of your
MiVoice Business system.
1.2 Ensure to select the current platform as
the target for migration.

2 Prepare your MiVoice Business system by
implementing the actions suggested in the
pre-migration audit report
Repeat steps 1 and 2 to ensure that the
system’s database is compatible.

3 Back up the compatible database.

4 Install the MiVoice Business Release 9.0 or
a later software.

5 Log in to Server Manager and activate the
license for the system.

6 Log in to the MiVoice Business System
Administration Tool.

7 Restore the compatible database. See Administration > Restore in the
Server Manager Help.

8 Log in to Server Manager and reboot the
system.

Yes you should clear the HW ID, just make sure the old server has no internet connection.
