Title: Updated certs - still in violation with Lost connectivity to the DLM
Post by: impact on September 23, 2020, 12:48:11 PM
Hello,

We took over a client that has 2 3300 Mitel phone systems that are linked, and are out of support.  They started getting the license violation error.  I have updated the certs on both devices, and both report a software version ending in .9, so I believe the certs are installed properly.  After I updated the certs, I did license and option selection->change->retrieve licenses->save, on both devices and that also worked.

However, both still report a license violation - when I run LICENSE STATUS, I receive Local Violation Cause(s): - Lost Connectivity to the DLM.

I am unsure what to do next to solve this issue.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you do a full SDS sync afterwards?

When u have dlm, you have to sync licenses as you did, but also open the Dlm form, check that your master still set to yes and save

Thanks for the responses!

No I did not do an SDS Sync after updating the certificates.

Currently neither system shows it is set to Designated License Manager.  I did not modify these settings during the certificate update.

So it sounds like I should set the system where the trunk lines to "yes" for DLM, and then go to Network Elements, select the slave system where "Data sharing" is set to YES, and sync all?

Thanks again

you have to be sure that the DLM was on this Ipbx and not the other (generally it is on the primary)

then, change it to Yes, go to the networks elements and  sds syc with your ipbx 2 , wait a few seconds, the license violation should disappear

The cert itself won't identify the system as using a DLM. Go to License and Option Selection and see if License Sharing is set to "Yes."

If it is set to yes then the AMC is expecting a DLM and you will need to have one of your PBX's be set as the DLM with expected GARID. That will be different from each ARID on the individual nodes.

Hello,

So license sharing is set to Yes on both of them.

But when I go to Application Group Licensing and try to set DLM to yes, the GARID is blank and requires me to enter one - save is greyed out until I type something in the empty field.  Where do I find the correct GARID?

You guys are great, thank you.

You have to be a Mitel VAR to access the AMC I believe?

How are you seeing the software version ending in .9? That's the AMC.

After you run the patch, you can see in the maintenance log.

We're an MSP that took over this client, the previous IT person discontinued support for Mitel at some point.  We're moving the client to Teams Business Voice in a few months.  The former vendor would only apply the patch if the client signed a 1 year support contract for both systems at thousands of dollars each, which the client does not want to pay.  They refused to just do the work on an hourly basis.  So I'm stuck doing this job, unfortunately.  Lots of FreePBX and Fonality experience, but it's my first foray into Mitel.

Just a follow-up.  I was able to get the GARID for the phone system.  After entering it, and doing an SDS sync, the systems both went into critical for application group and the slave still unable to contact DLM (critical).  I kept on syncing, retrieved some more licenses, did a few reboots, reapplied the cert.   Read a lot of logs.  Went to sleep for a few hours.  Woke up, and all the alarms were gone.

Thank you all for the awesome help.  Couldn't have done it without the forum here full of experts.
