A customer has a Mitel 470, v6.1. The room phones are Teledex phones with programmable buttons. One of the buttons is programmed for wake-up calls. The customer is reporting that the wake-up call button is ringing busy. I thought perhaps the buttons may be programmed wrong, so I asked him to dial the wake-up code, *9601. He reports that dialing the code also produces a busy signal. I have not been on site yet, but I VPN'd into the system and I don't see anything wrong but I may be missing something. What would cause *9601 to not be functional?

Do you have the audio guides installed?
-
Yes but still does not work.
-
The audio guide is loaded for English-us. Are there any other places that the language files need to be loaded and is a reboot required after doing so?
-
The phones are programmed as 'Rooms', not standard extensions?
Language would depend on the mailbox language of that room.
-
Yes, they are programmed as rooms.

Have you tried having them dial from any other phone/user to compare? Like using a digital phone or test with a 2380ip (provided you have the license), at least you may see the error on the screen.
edit: Maybe do a Rolling Trace as well to see what comes out when the customer gets the busy tone after dialling it.

I tried it from the front desk phone which is a 6873i and I received a busy signal. I guess my next step is to upgrade the software, but I am not convinced that that will clear the issue.

If you could do a rolling trace, then maybe you'd see the message when you get busy tone...
