Mitel 3300 system backup is configured to go to a network share. This was done before I took over the system. Since then, the password has been changed on the domain to allow the backup to happen. Now the backup fails. I found a place to change the password but now only 1 backup is successful! So now, MiVoice Business Express backs up but no MiVoice Business. Crazy! The file that isn't written has vmcd in it. Where the heck are the creds for this backup?

You maybe referring to an ESM backup and Server-Manager backup.
<URL>/server-manager (login as admin) Go to Administration > backup
<URL>/esm_login.asp (user name) Go to Maintenance and Diag > backup for manual. Or Go to Scheduler for creating a scheduled backup (along with External FTP server if needed).
Regards.

I don't see where to modify the credentials or location for the backup when looking in scheduler and editing the job.

MiVB (ESM) backup uses the address & credentials in the External FTP Server form.

That was it! Thank you. It was a local account on a Windows 8 VM.

FWIW, I think the business express backup will also contain a phone system backup. Moving most of my customer away from the express to 2 servers so that they can stay current

Yes it does. Doing the same here. Not too ugly of a process, though in my experience so far it usually involves a call to AMC support because the new MiVB license is always missing a tag, whatever that means.

I think if you plan this right, you should see no issues. Setup the 2 new arids, assigned licenses from the migration part, create new ulm and get software assurance transferred. Just need to move all licenses and make sure when restoring the new MCD all are allocated and the dimensions are changed before the restore.
