Title: Working Remotely, No Telework Server
Post by: Chupacabra on March 21, 2020, 05:58:03 PM
A coronavirus related issue!  :o

Our office will be working remotely for the foreseeable future. We don't want to forward calls to personal cells and we don't want to use personal cells to call clients (because then they'll have our numbers). Everyone can check their voicemail remotely and we're using email as much as possible, but we need to make phone calls.

We don't have a telework server.

Is there any way at all to make a call by going THROUGH our 3300? Say, calling our system from a cell and having it routed out? Or any other way to use the system mask numbers?
Don't want to set up Google Voice for 30+ people, and adding a calling plan for Skype/Teams is going to be a hassle. Just trying to see if we can do anything at all with what we have.

Thanks, guys.

NOTE: We use 4025 phones.

DISA... Direct Inward System Access... Requires account codes and a little finesse, but the help files can walk you through it.

Basically the user dials a DID number, enters their extension and access code, then is can dial a number or activate a feature... It is annoying, time consuming, and has long been depreciated due to security concerns, but the feature still exists.

You could use External Hotdesk if you have licensing, if not you can buy some.

Calls can then route to your mobile for incoming calls. You then also setup an access number that when you call it from a recognised mobile number it will call you back and give you dial tone so you can dial out from the PABX. This way the user doesn't pay for the call.

Is there a way with the DISA to force the system to use the default Caller ID?  When I make a call through DISA it displays the caller ID of the phone I am calling from.

Might have to add the numbers the users are calling from to the CPN substitution forms.
