I was notified recently that our phone system has been disconnecting callers every day at 4:55 PM EST basically. 6 POTS, 1 VOiP connected.
We don't have an automatic night mode STAR in place. Though we have discussed implementing one. Ideas on things to check that could cause this?
Release version: 6.2 SP2
Call processing Vesion: 6.2.5.80
Only thing I seem to see in the System Output logs for that time area is this:
-01:733- > -01:290- 16:57 11-26 M2002 INF HW CP [10.1.1]: Off-Line From Loopstart Device
-01:733- > -01:291- 16:58 11-26 M5020 WRN HW CP [1.2.1]: Caller ID Terminated Due To Connect Timer Expired
-01:733- > -01:292- 16:58 11-26 M2002 INF HW CP [10.1.1]: On-Line From Loopstart Device

Hey achri332,
Is your system on a battery backup/Surge protector? The fact the loopstart card is disconnecting and coming back up after a second indicates there could be a power related issue or it could be a faulty card/slot on the chassis. Do you have another card you can swap it with?
Thanks,
Travis

Yes it is on a battery backup. I do not have any other cards for it, I'd have to reach out to the techs at the installer if that's the thinking rather than it being software.

Are those 3 lines the only thing showing in the log file? That’s only a single LS port resetting, which wouldn’t explain all calls dropping.
BTW, a STAR wouldn’t drop calls already in progress.

I've got tons of things in there, just didn't see much around the time the phone people complained about. If there's something more specific I should look for I can.
Okay good to know.
