Hello, I know this should be an easy one, but I just cannot seem to find the answer anywhere.
We have uploaded an MP3 file to the 3300 for MOH.
I simply want to play the file through one of our 6940 phones to see how it sounds.
Is there a special key or feature code I can use to play the MOH file?
I could easily do this with our old Inter-tel system, but I cannot find a way to do this on the Mitel.

Call your cell and hit hold?

Agreed, but nothing easier for a CFO who can't grasp that procedure?

There is a key called "Music" that you can program.
I think it may do what you want.

This reminds me of when people log service desk tickets asking if they have international dialling enabled or not.
I always wonder why they don't just dial internationally to find out.
Similarly, in this case, you can configure a music key on somebody's phone, or, you can just put a call on hold....

This only works for MOH connected to the music port on the embedded ASU, it doesn't work for any other music source or file-based MOH... So basically it doesn't work for 99% of installs.

It works for our vMCD with file based MOH

Interesting... I have never tried it on a vMCD, only physical, and not for several years. Thanks for the info!

Background music only uses the default music source be it the MOH jack, Single line, IP stream or embedded. I was recently testing for a site that is virtual but wants some phone to play some radio traffic. Did my test on a controller but it was basically a sip ata connected to a viking rad-1a set up like a remote church dial in
