I have a customer with a 3300 that is trying to find some random fault on their network that has asked me to activate SNMP on system and handsets. I have activated the service on the phone system for them, but I don't know how to do it on the handsets (is it even possible?). They have UC360, 6920, 6930, 6930 handsets. They have multiple sites via MPLS all connecting to a MXeIII at 1 single site. Obvious stuff like VLANS etc are at play, but not my problem... yet!

SNMP I don’t believe so. The 6900 series phones has its own diagnostic built in. You can web UI using user:root and passcode:73738...go to diagnostics...has logs and TCPDUMP Most snmp software such as Spice Networks can monitor any device doing a continuous ping.

The sets can also send voice quality stas if set up to do so to a server running the monitor program

I definitely rate the VQ Stats - very useful.
