Hi All,
I apologise if this is a really simple question but I have a Mitel 5312 handset and the phone does not answer until I select the line. It also does not go to speaker when I press the speaker button. It's only my line that does this (everyone else's here works fine) and it's not just the handset. I have moved my extension onto a brand new handset and it does the same thing there.
The only access I have is to the Mitel communications director webGUI and I am not particularly proficient with it. I can do basic stuff like reset voicemail PINs and not a whole lot more.
If it helps:
Release level: 4.1 SP2
Active software load: 10.1.2.13
Any help would be amazing.
Thanks.

First thing to check is if the phone is in headset mode, this is what it sounds like.
Check your "Feature Access Codes" form and look up the code to disable headset.
Also if you are familiar with the maintenance commands you could try "LOCATE FEATURE EXTENSION {EXT}" where {EXT} is your extension number.
It should tell you if it is headset mode.

Hi sarond,
I think you're right. Any idea where I will find this form?
I found the manual online and it said to type 317 to turn off headset mode but as soon as I press the number 3, it comes up with INVALID on the screen. So I'm still not sure.
Also if you are familiar with the maintenance commands you could try "LOCATE FEATURE EXTENSION {EXT}" where {EXT} is your extension number.
It should tell you if it is headset mode.
After typing that command in, this is what I get:
IP Device ID: 15
Circuit Location : 1 3 1 15 1
Extension : 804
Active Features :
Headset
Phone Lock: UnLocked
MAC Address : 08:00:0F:45:D2:1E
Does that look like headset mode?

Also check that the handset is plugged into the correct jack on the phone

Yep, checked it and it's in the right port.

Yes headset is active. The code you found is for a MiVO250 I believe.
To find the feature code go to "System Properties>System Feature Settings>Feature Access Codes" look for Multiline Set Headset - On/Off
You could also program a headset button on the phone and use that instead and delete it when done.

Primary code: #*#
That worked 100%. You're wonderful!
Thank you so much.
