Title: block all incoming calls on a single extension
Post by: mvaughn on May 29, 2019, 02:12:14 PM
I have two phones that have recently been programmed to be used only for paging. I was hoping there would be a way through COS to prevent these phones from receiving incoming calls but still allow for pages to be heard but I have been unable to find a feature that met our needs

you may want to use the interconnect table, that could be a way to do it

Alternately you could use the ARS Maximum Dialed Digits form to keep if from dialing anything.
Assign the phones a unique COR such as 60 then in the Maximum Dialed Digits form set the number of digits allowed to be 0 for that COR.
Then the device can hear pages and take calls but will be unable to dial anything.

Then to keep it from anyone on the outside being able to call it, change the extension number to a non-DID number.
That works if you're only trying to block outside calls coming in.

Or...  You could just change all the line to "no ring".

If its a DID call you want to restrict make a class of service with Non DID Extension set to yes and apply it to that phone
