Title: 5485 and MiVoice 9.0
Post by: BoiseBorn on May 21, 2019, 04:12:53 PM
We have what I think may be a unique setup but it is possible that others are experiencing the same issue. We are using NAC to configure switch ports and for this we are just using option 43 in DHCP to configure the phones and get them to the right VLAN. If we add any of the other DHCP options that the 5485 paging adapter requires then the PC that get's daisy chained off of the phone won't get to it's proper VLAN. So to get the paging adapter to come up we used to segregate a lab 3300 controller running 8.0 SP1 and the paging adapter. 8.0 had the easy DHCP set up and with it turned on the paging adapter would buy an address and upgrade it's firmware. Now that we are running 9.0 and we have setup DHCP on 9.0 the paging adapter never shows up as active on the 3300. Is anyone else using a round about way to get the paging adapter updated on 9.0?

So when you setup Option 125 or 128+, a PC connected through the 5485 get's on the wrong VLAN, or a PC connected to ANY phone get's on the wrong VLAN?

How about you get it working on a static port with NAC not running on it first.
Are you using CDP/LLDP?
If not, have you configured the options in all the Data VLANs as well as the Voice VLANs?

When we setup 125 and 128 a PC connected through the phones, 69XX series, won't get to it's proper VLAN.

We do have a port with NAC not enabled but the options still have to be enabled through DHCP to get the paging adapter to come up. Enabling those options makes the PCs attached through any phone in that network go to the voice VLAN as soon as they renew thier DHCP lease. Pre NAC we would configure the options on the PC VLAN and the Voice VLAN. Post NAC we just have option 43 on both of the VLANs to alleviate the PC on the wrong VLAN issue.

Maybe you should show us what your options look like.
