Title: Micollab 7.3 cleint on Server 2019, should it work?
Post by: Mal Osborne on May 14, 2019, 10:15:02 PM
Hi.

I am about to migrate 50 or so users from 3 old terminal servers running Server 2008R2 to 3 new ones running Server 2019.

The users run the Mitel Micollab Client, version 7.3.0.27, nearly all on the old Server 2008R2 boxes, but with a couple running on Windows 10 PCs.

It has been running fine like this for years.

Trying on server 2019, it seemed to install OK, but does not work. :(

When I type credentials to login, an error in red text immediately appears, "Request timed out. MiCollab Client Service host unreachable" Dropping the firewall on the Server 2019 did not help, nor did rebooting.

Networking setup on the new terminal server is the same as the old ones. I am able to point a browser at the vMAS on the new machine, and log into that OK.

Any ideas how to get this working?

Hi,

Unfortunately after checking the client requirements for your version, it's not compatible with server 2019; as you know 7.3 is considered a legacy version.

Any way you can upgrade de 8.1? This would give you Micollab Web, which can be of benefit of your in the event your doing Citrix, RDS or other ways of shared services.

Might be possible. Will Micollab 8.1 talk to our existing, older vMAS?

My preference would be to somehow get our old 7.3.0.27 running.

Maybe start a tcpdump and look what ports requested. I mean port 36008 is one of them
are the new Servers in the same subnet like the old ones?
