Hi

Could you tell me when MiVB 10 is due for release?

Am I correct in saying as soon as 10 is released version 8 is end of life?

As far as i'm aware there are no rumblings of a v10 MiVB any time soon. v9 has just been released really

10? Probably not for a few years... I would suspect we will see a 9.1 toward the end of the year or beginning of next year, perhaps. With 9.0 we are really only at SP1 PR1, so if history holds true, there will be a SP2 with a couple PR releases, then 9.1, followed by a couple SP's as well. I don't expect to see 10 for a at least 2-3 years.

Hello,

I'm just wondering if Mitel has announced anything official regarding release of 10.0?

We were caught by surprise that 9.x doesn't support 52XX phones which we have a lot of. From a budgeting / planning perspective it would be advantageous for us to know when 10.0 is released if indeed that is when support for 8.x comes to an end.

There is no official announcement about 10.0 (or 9.1 or whatever the next version is)... But it is Mitel's standard practice to support back to major revisions.

Mitel stated early on that 9.0 that would be a complete re-write of the OS and older hardware support would be discontinued although they were not specific as to what that meant. It shouldn't have come as huge surprise actually as we gradually saw other 52XX set support discontinued in earlier versions (like the 5235 for example). Frankly, I am surprised they continued to support a lot of the hardware as long as they did.
