Title: Ring Group to External Number
Post by: ChadH on September 20, 2018, 08:52:19 AM
Morning,
I need to setup a ring group for 3 users, what I need to figure out is how to set up the ring group to dial an external number for overflow, and No Answer.  I'm currently using an unused DID for the Ring Group, added the members (easy).  Any help is much appreciated.

Try to create a speed call (in System Speed Calls) to an external number and use that speed call number as an overflow number in the ring group.

Created the System Speed Dial (95196) then add that number in the overflow setting on the Ring Group.  Made a test call, but did not forward, after about 10 rings (from my cell) I get the Verizon message that my call could not be completed.

When you dial 95196 from an internal extension does it get thru? If you dial a DID of the ring group (e.g. from your mobile) you may need to have the Public Network To Public Network Connection Allowed enabled in the Class of Service for the trunk.

Is Verizon your mobile carrier, or the carrier for your fixed service into the Mitel?

I know it's kind of the same thing, but maybe try setting up a hunt group with a divert to the external number and divert the ring group to the hunt group

IME when using a speed call pointed to an external number, you need to create a route to the external number using the CoR 1 route [which is usually the route that anybody is allowed to dial] if you want external calls to follow that path.

Did you got this sorted?

What COS does the Ring Group have?

I believe you will still need a COS that will allow external call forwarding.

Maybe test with making it the same as an extension COS.

Yes, I finally have this sorted out.  Created a System Speed Dial with that forwarding to external number, then set that # as the overflow in the Ring Group.  Then changed the Call Ringing Timer to 15 so call forwards after 5 unanswered rings.
