I have a client who has hearing issues, and about has an accident everytime someone pages over the system. His hearing aids are turned up!
He has requested that we see if a PRECURSOR TONE will go to the deskset (Mitel 5330 IP set) speaker prior to the page being broadcast.
Does MITEL do this? Where would I find this? I have wracked my brain a couple times... and cannot find it. It is probably a Captain Obvious thing, so you know how that goes!
Thanks in advance!

On the Mitel 3300, this is called GROUP PAGING. It plays a tone prior to the page being heard on each handset.
On the Mitel MiVO250/5000, HOWEVER, I do NOT see GROUP paging as an option.
Please help!

cpegeno,
That is not an option through the phones on the MiVO-250.
What you could do is have the person paging press a number key after starting the page, but before actually speaking.
Sorry,

Thanks T.E., I was thinking that would be the worse case scenario.
Silly, but would work.
I appreciate the response.

Or, remove his phone from the page zone(s).

Not an option. He runs the business, and they page when calls are parked.

The other option you could consider would be getting some external paging device. I forget the name of them off hand.
You would call that extension and record your page. Then the device would send out the page with a warning tone.
This would of course require purchasing a device and SIP license and the time to configure it.

A simple Valcom page adapter, set up on an analog station port or trunk port. One external speaker, programmed as a member of the existing page group.

They have an Overhead setup in their shop. This is for the office area, and I don't think they want to incur more costs.
I have a feeling that this system was explained having this over the sets tone precursor.
I haven't given up hope yet.
Thanks for your replies!

cpegeno,
You know the one thing I never looked into, sadly, is if you can adjust the volume on the speaker phone specifically for pages; you may want to look into that.
Thanks,
