Title: Forward All New Voicemail/Phone Calls
Post by: io on June 26, 2018, 12:13:30 PM
We have a staff member that called in sick. Typically in this scenario I would reset their MiCollab password, forward their voicemails, and create a status to forward their calls. Is there a "behind-the-scenes" way to accomplish temporary forwarding for calls and any unread voice messages?

For calls:

Users and Devices > Advanced Configuration > Call Forwarding Profile would allow you to set a forward.

That wouldn't be a solution to forward voicemails, however.

That's nifty - thanks for the tip!

If you get a MiCollab console, you can have your receptionist control incoming calls in this situation - you just need to buy a licence and apply it to that person's MiCollab Client profile in the MiCollab Client Server.
For voicemails, the best thing would be to use the email system to send them to the different user.

This is all a bit of a labour-intensive way to deal with people who are off sick though. It would be better if you got the console. Also if you have vital outward-facing numbers like this, best to not assign them to people, but assign them to a ring group instead, then you can pop people into that ring group when this kind of need arises.

Another option would be to setup a DSS/Busy Lamp on the on the phone who would be answering their calls and set to Ring Cont, then forward voicemails to email. Not sure about forward voicemails already in there though without resetting the passcode.
