Title: CESID E911 Dialing
Post by: mcastle on February 15, 2018, 03:24:35 PM
We are trying to configure E911 dialing for our phones for different locations. We have SIP trunking from Comcast, so I called them to setup E911 numbers and their location. So now I should be able to just added those E911 numbers to the extensions I need and it should work, right? I really couldn't find any information on this besides this answer on spice works; HTTP://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1945651-mitel-l2-to-cesid-mapping.

I did all that, set one of the e911 numbers to the CESID on one of the extensions but it didn't work. I did reboot the phone, but didn't really wait long. Called 911, said it was a test but it still showed the wrong address. Is there something I am missing? We don't have any CPN substitutions which I though might throw it off. Remote locations are VPN'ed to HQ where our Mitel system is, any advice?

Thank you.

When you called 911 did they get the CESID or a different number?

I didn't ask, time for some more testing I guess!

If they got the correct CESID then the carrier needs to make sure that the address for that number is correct in the ANI/ALI database for that area.

If they are not getting the CESID make sure that 911 in ARS Digits Dialed goes to a Route that has "Emergency" under Route Type in ARS Routes. That forces caller ID as the CESID.
