Title: Can I stop the on hold calls from ringing?
Post by: dan231 on December 14, 2017, 05:18:51 PM
While I am positive this is to allow an on hold caller to not be forgotten, my call center is asking if it is possible to not have the ringing continue.
A work around we do is place the caller on mute instead.  I'm looking for the proper (better) way to handle calls on hold.

Do you mean stop the holding call from recalling?

Pretty sure he is talking about Hold Recall... the caller is placed on hold, it times out, and the call returns the person who put it on hold.

You can increase the Hold timer, although I don't think it can be indefinite, 600 seconds or something like that is the longest settings I believe.

Hold timer set at zero seconds will prevent the holding call from recalling. That's my standard Alternate Hold timer.
