Scenario: my wife calls on her cell phone, but the caller id only shows the number. What can I do to force my phone to 'know' its my wife?
-
Add her cell number to the system speed dial table with her name.
-
Still showed wireless caller.

Still showed wireless caller.
What type of trunks do you have?

What type of trunks do you have?
Regular PRI. Not sure if that answers your question...

It does... I was sure that was all I did but when I tried it in my office it doesn't work either.

Either way - I appreciate the assistance

We have an ISDN30e / PRI here in the UK and it works as expected, add my mobile number to the Speed Dials list and it shows my name when I ring in.
-
I think there may be a flag that will affect this as well.
What are your flags for your extension?
-
This may only work when a name is not sent by the carrier... In my case, we receive "Wireless Caller" as the name on all cell calls.

How about something overly complicated.
Setup a call routing table to sort by outside number. Add her number to that and direct it to a CRA that times out to your extension.
Have the name of the CRA be her name and it should give the correct appearance.
This assumes you only want to do this for 1 person.
