Hi guys,
This morning we updated our 3300 to 8.0, all our 5212 and 5225s are working great but I have a problem with our 5235's. Under the Phone option (i think they call it a shadder?) all my speed dials are still set, however the labels are gone so I can't see what the button actually says. The People, Messages, History, Settings and Applications shadders/options are all grayed out and say Not Ready. Does anyone have any thoughts on whats going on?

Sorry to give you some bad news but 5230, 5235 and 5550IP Consoles are not supported in MiVB 8.0.
I'm not sure what that entails exactly but I don't like your chances.

Oh??? I don't question your knowledge very often, but this time I have to disagree on one point, the 5235...
I am pretty sure I have four 5235's running on 8.0, although we had an issue with some that had 2 PKM's per phone (the lights would work intermittently). There is even a note in 8.0 Release changes in the documentation referring to resiliency being added for Personal Idle Keys on the 5235.

I'm not saying they won't work, they're just not supported.

Gotcha... I stand corrected.

The option is still there to select the 5235 as a device so I'm not sure if they will ever remove it.
It's probably like peripheral cabinets, they haven't been supported for a while but I believe they still work in MiVB 7.2 systems. (I could be wrong)
I'm not too sure as we don't use them here.

I just got work from our installer that the 5235's are still supported in 8.X, they pulled 2 models out but the 5235's weren't one of them. So still trying to figure out why the shutters are saying Not Ready and the speed dials are set (just missing the labels so can't tell what button does what)

Can close this post as our Installer was wrong, the 5235 is no longer supported on 8.x as I found a software log on our 3300 controller clearly stating that the 5235 is no longer supported.

I am going to pull this topic back to the front... Ran into this issue with a customer today where after an upgrade the 5235 keys do not show up and when I looked in the release note, it clearly states they are supported (see screen shot taken from release notes) if the sets have 2.5.0.5 firmware which these sets do.
I have a ticket open with Mitel, but can someone share where they found that the 5235 is NOT supported (I can't find the referenced image from sarond a few posts back anywhere to show my manager)?

The document I referenced is the Tech Update Course for MiVB 8.0

Has anyone seen a doc that says the 5235 is not supported?
I've checked the engineering guide lines and release notes and everything I've seen so far suggest that it is.
I'll need to find a doc that says it's not.

Found the doc.
Bulletin Number: PB20170185
It says support will be withdrawn in release 9.0

Although I haven't implemented it yet... Support told me it doesn't work because the Network IP Address is not assigned correctly in ICP/PBX Assignment Form, and correcting that and rebooting the controller should restore functionality to the 5235 sets.

The settings changes did not make a difference, now their official answer is they are unsupported...
From support ticket:
As per the 8.0 rel notes:
MiVoice Business 8.0 no longer supports the following:
• 5230 Phone
• 5235 Phone
• MN5550 IP Console
• MXe Server Note: Systems should be migrated to MiVB-ISS or VMIVB
• Stratus deployments (stratus under VMware is supported)
• MiTAI client (see bulletin PB20160149)
I am talking to the customer about replacing these two sets with 6940 phones since going to 5330e or 5340e sets would require a new PKM module for the phone as well, the total costs is more than a 6940 set.

What I find most disturbing...if the 5550 console is not supported in MiVB 8, then why is it an available device type when adding a console in MiVB 8?
I have two 5550 consoles at my site, and I am about to migrate from MXE server to ISS. I was also going to take it to V8, but not sure now, the info seems conflicting. Mitel does not have an upgrade path for the 5550 to business console, that I am aware of, and I don't have it in budget to spend the money on new licenses...especially when my two 5550 consoles are working just fine! >:(

Further mention of the 5550 IP console under MiVB release 8 - New Features and Capabilities. If it is no longer supported, why reference new features related to it??
