I am having an issue with the headset button on my Mitel phone. When I press the button it lights up properly and I am able to use my wireless headset without any issues. However if I use the button on the headset to hangup the call or I put it back on the base, the Headset light goes off. So now I need to press it every time I want to use the headset, instead of it just staying on. This just started recently after a software upgrade, and I am wondering if there a way to make sure it always stays on. Thank you.

What type of phone/headset?

5320 phone, and it's a Plantronics headset. But we have a few different models and all of them are having the same issue.
-
Are you using the Plantronics HL10 Lift Kit, or whatever lift kit is appropriate for your headset? Plantronics headsets require an external handset lift kit.
-
No not using any type of headset lifter. We hit the button manually to turn the headset button on/off.
Prior to the upgrade it just stayed on regardless, but since then it now requires you to press the button to turn it on.

upgrade from what to what?
-
MiVoice was recently upgraded to Release Level 8.0 SP1.

I have a 5324 here working perfectly on 8.0 sp1 (Teleworker as well) wired headset though.
-
Yes I have a few wired headsets here myself and they work great. The wireless works too, but you just need to keep hitting the button to turn it on.

Have you tried deleting the button and re-enabling it? Does the handsfree function properly when the button turns itself off? The only thing I can think of is some kind of corruption. The last time something similar (but not the same) happened to me someone had removed the key from the phone with it active..it was very strange as obviously the speaker would not work handsfree of course but there were some odd things as well which I can't remember.

It's a problem with 8.0SP1, it will be fix in SP2 as per mitel

Appreciate the feedback everyone. I will wait until the new SP to fix the issue.

MN00672289 ‑ Headset key on 53xx sets is turned off after third party corded headset replaced in cradle.
REPORTED IN SW LOAD ‑ 14.0.1.29
PLANNED SW LOAD ‑ MiVB8SP2
SYMPTOMS
When using a corded DECT headset with a headset key on a 53xx series set, when the headset is replaced
in the cradle after a call, the headset key gets turned off. The user then has to manually turn it back on
again before the next call will go to the headset.
