Final update

Firewall on the 5000 set to reject requests to port 5060 hence the wireshark 'port unreachable'. I was looking at the trace from the wrong direction and so misinterpreted what it was telling me.

Solution: browse to the phone system, in diagnostics under firewall, allow 5060 from the LAN.

A wireshark trace shows an icmp port unreachable message so it's a router config issue rather than a phone config.

Hi, does anyone have experience of IP Dect stands over a VPN, i.e. does anyone have an example of the required configuration?

We have it working perfectly well locally on the LAN but move to a VPN (which is working - can ping subnets and pass data) and it fails to register.

Routers are Draytek Vigor 2820, haven't turned off SIP alg as yet. Ports forwarded on router and no ports being blocked by ISP.

All suggestions gratefully received.

Mitel Software Applications / Configuring an IP Dect

Has anybody configured an IPBS2-D3/1C (formerly an Ascom line)?

I can log in to the web gui, I change the username and password but then I am only able to proceed as what I assume is an auditor mode.
I am unable to administer users (there's no option to do this in the admin section) and Administration -> Users doesn't produce anything in the way of a login.

I have looked at at javascript and java options but can't see an issue there.

Stumped.

Does anyone have a how to or guide. The basestation_IO docs are not much use so far.

Turned out to be an issue with CAT5 cabling. Replaced and problem resolved.

Hi guys - my first 5k install so I'm trying to feel my way through this, 17 * 5330s all with statically assigned ip addresses, all of the other handsets are ok but I just have one which at about 2.30pm goes off-line with the message 'waiting for ACK' after about 90 mins comes back.

I thought it might be an ip conflict so changed the IP address - 10 mins later bang on 14:30 it drops again.

Introduction and Announcements / Hello

Hi to all, just about to train on the 5000 platform coming from 10 years general IT and Siemens HiPath installs.

Looking forward to getting hands on with the Mitel, from what I've seen so far, it looks like a very decent platform.

Will probably have a few dumb newbie questions as I get to grips with it.
