Title: Upgrade from 6.0 SP3 to 7.2 SP1 PR2

Is it possible to restore a backup of a system on 6.0 SP3 to a system with a new install on 7.2 SP1 PR2? I was curious if backups of an older version could be restored on a newer version software load.

Yes... anything MCD 4.2 or later can be restored into any later software version. Versions prior to MCD 4.0 must be upgraded to MCD 4.0 and converted to the new database type, and can then be upgraded into anything newer.

6.0 SP3 to 7.2 SP1 PR2 is no problem. For specifics on what other versions can be upgraded to what, check the release notes of the version you want to upgrade to, there should be a table laying out the guidelines.
