Title: MCD SIP trunk utilization report
Post by: Stefanovitch on May 15, 2018, 02:38:15 AM
In MCD 8.0sp2 you now have support added to view SIP trunk traffic reports using the SIP TRAFFIC commands.
It comes with max storage of 24 records. IE 24x15min=6h.
It’s great to see that we can now do this but I can’t see how it can be used, how do I get this data out without logging in every 6th hour or sniffing the traffic report port. I just want to know peak traffic load, am I using all my trunks? how many do I actually need ?

CCM/YSE does not support it so that's no help.

I use a Freeswitch-based SIP gateway at the sites where it *really* matters so I get stats from that.
If you want to know when you hit max utilisation, MCD will log an event saying something like "in the past n hours all channels were in use, you might want to buy more licenses" when someone attempts to make an additional call but I can't remember the exact wording and can't find any instances of it  :D

I don't know the answer to this because I've never seen it happen.
Does the 3300 generate a congestion log for SIP trunks like it does with TDM trunks?

Yes Ralph, that's the one I meant.
