Title: Can't call certain mobile numbers after changing Mitel MCD
Post by: mszodiac on September 11, 2017, 11:14:54 AM
Hi everyone.  I seem to get the strangest problems...

So, we replaced the Nortel Option 11 with a MiVoice Business in Germany.  The system has a standard Euro ISDN link.  However, we now can't call certain cell phone numbers from Vodafone's mobile codes 0174 and 0162.  It was working before the switch over.

Other mobile codes work like T-mobile codes 0171, and Eplus 0177.

Any ideas?

Take a look in the ars route

Maybe you don't have a route 01xxxxx

ARS is correct.  CCS trace confirms that it's going out of the E1 but I do not receive the "NAM" message from the Telco.

Then you need to talking to your telco. I have much the same trouble often with SIP and any 'premium rate' number which seem to be barred y the telco for no reason. I have even had 0800 (free) numbers barred by the telco and insistence that the customer signs a waiver before they will unbar them. I wonder if they are just worried about scammers and the like eventually costing them thousands when some wins a case against them....who knows.

JOOI does the call just fail or do you get some form of announcement?

We haven't had any luck with the Telco.  We're on hold for extended periods, and when we finally reached someone, they just took our numbers and said they'll get back to us.  We'll, it's been 2 days and no return calls.

Just re-order tone.

Do you have analog trunks connected to the mcd? If so, create a route for those reunks and route the ars to that route to see if calls goes out. We had the same issue in tunisia and i made the installer route the calls to analog trunks and it worked

Unfortunately, there's not a single analog trunk on the MCD.  This would have been a test, and likely the workaround for these numbers.

BUT... BUT.. I'm in Dusseldorf now changing the Nortel Option 11 with a Mitel MCD, and I've got the exact same problem.

Those numbers worked on the Option 11, but not on the MCD.  No analog trunks here either.  So yeah, since we made the change, the Telco says it's our problem (obviously).

Any ideas?

If you are not receiving a NAM back from the provider and its a re-order tone then my money is still on the provider being at fault. You have set the country to Germany (I think I asked you this question already but can't remember the answer)?

Problem fixed! Changed the Bearer Capabilities setting from 3.1khz to Speech.

And yes, I also tested it on the MCD that was set to country "Germany".  With Bearer set to 3.1kHz, the call didn't go through AND only to those numbers.  With Bearer set to Speech, the calls worked on all the cellphone numbers we've tested prior to changing the PBX to MCD.

My active MCD is set to North America and it works with "Speech".
