Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Temporarily disable alarm

Hi,

I've got a system that is throwing a major alarm with regards to the digital lines. The lines are available but the slip rate is quite high thus the alarm. I can clear this using the DTSTAT CLEAR command but ofcourse it comes back after sometime. We are aware of what's causing this alarm but we would like to temporarily disable the controller from reporting this for some time. I believe the command would be something similar to of SET THRESHOLD LINES........??

Mitel Software Applications / Voice Mail Tab - UCA Console

Hi,

We've recently installed the UCA Console option for our reception and all seems to be working well. However, the "Leave Voice Mail" tab is greyed out and cannot be selected. The receptionist is unable to transfer calls directly to voice mail. On the MAS server, when I go to Unified Communications Server>Enterprise, the Voice mail server setting is greyed out as well. Is this where you configure this for Voice mail to work on the UCA console and how do I get this to work? The site uses embedded voice mail and not Nupoint. UCA Version is 6.0 and MAS is version 5.0. MCD is 6.0 SP2.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / L2&Boot download err

Hi Support,

I'm getting this error when phones are booting -"L2&Boot download error" Initially we were called up after an IP Console 5550 locked up. I connected a normal handset (5224) onto this port (one of their working extensions) just to test and thats when I encountered this error. I attempted to reconnect the extension back to its port but encountered the same error. I also tested another working extension by disconnecting and reconnecting. Upon reconnecting, it goes through the boot cycle, picks up the correct VLAN and an IP address, however I get the error followed by "main unavailable. Resetting phone". The extensions that are connected are working fine but if you restart the phone, you don't get connection. No changes have been done to the switches or DHCP settings - the controller is the DHCP server. We recently upgraded this controller from MDC 5 SP2 to MCD 6 SP2. I have even tried connecting in teleworker mode but no luck. Are the phones trying to download the firmware from controller and failing? Has anyone encountered this issue before?

Hi,

Quick question - are you able to forward all calls to a Mailbox from the 5550 console? Night 1 and Night 2 positions have already been taken up and the receptionists wants another temporary position where she can divert all calls to a mailbox which will say "no one is available to take your call at the moment, leave a message" Cant see any option on the console software. Any advice is much appreciated.

Hi,

We are thinking of installing UCA console software to handle incoming calls replacing the physical ip console 5550. What are the major/minor considerations that we need to take into account before embarking on this? The site has 5 controllers running MCD 5.0 SP2 in a clustered environment. There is a MAS server which runs UCA clients which is used by the users on a day-to-day basis. The console software should be able to transfer calls across the whole cluster. Any pointers much appreciated.

Hi,

I'm trying to setup auto attendant on a Mitel 3000 running MPS 6.2. The PBX is installed with a voice module and they want to start making use of the auto attendant facility. Basically, callers would hear "Thank you for calling xxxxx company. Please dial 1 to speak to reception, if you know the extension number dial it now or dial star to leave a message. There is an ISDN service coming into the building and a few PSTN services as well. I tried changing the "Day Call Answering" point to Auto attendant, but for some reason, the auto attendant did not pick up the calls and they go straight to the default answering point. I have not recorded the message yet but I would assume that the generic greeting would become active.

Was wondering if I could get some pointers on how to set this up on the 3000. Haven't worked with this system much but can find my way round a 3300 quite well.

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a Mitel software product out there that can be used to replace the physical IP console 5550. A customer has requested we investigate this possibility as they want to get rid of their physical consoles. The have a cluster of 5 controllers in different locations and 2 IP consoles. The consoles are on different sites and go present/absent depending on which office is available. To the incoming caller, it all seems like the calls are going to one place. The console operator then transfers the call as required.  The controllers are on MCD 5.0 sp2 and they have a MAS server as well. Users communicate using UCA. I have thought about using the console option in UCA but I'm not sure if this will be sufficient enough to handle such an environment.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Reverting from MCD 6.0 to MCD 5.2 SP2

Hi all,

I've got a wierd one....are you able to rivert from MCD 6.0 to 5.2 sp2? An online upgrade was done using SI tool to MCD 6.0 however, the AMC side of things had not been sorted out and there was no software assurance. Hence the controller now is in licence violation which is being presented on all handsets. If SA is not sorted out, are you able to revert back to MCD 5.0? There is a pre-upgrade backup available. Also, will the SWAP command be handy in such a situation?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5000 clustering

Hi,

I'm looking for some pointers for my first 5000 instal. Basically there will be a cluster of 3 HX Controllers - HX v5.1 SP3- with digital phones - no ip phones at this time because of budget limitations. The organization network is via an MPLS so ideally the controllers will be on the same network. What's the easiest way to get the nodes talking with this kind of connection?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Software installer tool failure?

Hi Guys,

Well I think its gone pear shaped on me with the software upgrade on one controller. I was able to upgrade 2 controllers to MCD 5.0 SP2 from MCD 4.2 using the SI tool with no dramas. I was able to take a backup on these as well with no issues. On the next day (today) I did not have my trusty laptop with the right version of java. So I decided to let the SI tool do the backup. I now believe that this was a bad idea as the upgrade stalled at some point the the controller reset and went into a loop. I have been forced to do a fresh installation with no DB. I have attached the SI log which shows at which point the controller reset during the upgrade.
Question:
1. Where does the SI tool save the backup before installing? I was using my laptop as my ftp server
2. Will it be possible to recover from this without having to reprogram from scratch?
3. Has anyone been in this kind of situation before?

I'm seriously at loss of what could have happened as this is the 3rd controller I was upgrading in exactly the same way.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi,

Forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere. We intend to upgrade 5 controllers from MCD 4.2 sp2 to MCD 6.0. These controllers are in a cluster. The reason for this upgrade is because we want to deploy UC360 Audio conferencing equipment on 3 sites and its my understanding that the UC360 will only work on MCD 5.0 and above.

Does anyone have a quick reference guide on how to do this? Will I have to upgrade to MCD 5.0 then to MCD 6.0?

Hi All,

We recently installed UCA 5.0 Console option on our reception phone. It works fine but if she is on a call and another call call comes in, the active calls window changes to conference and you basically lose the ability to individually control the calls. Both calls are put into a conference call. Has anyone seen this before? Is there any way to have the calls come in  as individual calls and then she can do as she like with the calls? Can this console option on UCA be used to replace a physical mitel console? Much appreciated.

Forgive me if I'm posting in the wrong spot. I'm attempting to change an extension name on a Mitel 3000 running MPS 6.2. I'm trying to get to the form that lists all the extensions/names so that I'm able to edit the required extension. Any assisatnce will be much appreciated.

Hi all,

What's the difference between loudspeaker paging and direct page? There's this controller which has 2 page groups set up in Users and Devices>Group Programming>Page groups. The page group numbers are 4 and 5. Page group 4 has a bunch of extensions and page group 5 likewise.  The FAC for loudspeaker paging is #9 and the FAC for direct paging is *4.

Now, apparently FAC #9 is not working. However, if FAC *4<page group num> works fine. Users say that FAC #9 used to work but now all they get is "invalid zone" error on their phones when they try to use it.

So my question again, what's the difference between the two?

Hi,

Got a strange one today, if someone picks up their phone and presses the voicemail button i.e. they have a voicemail and the orange light is flashing, it would normally call voicemail. This has stopped. When the user hits the envelope button, it displays "No messages". However, if you dial the voicemail number directly, you are able to listen to your messages. Has anyone seen this issue before? Indicator lamps are also flashing even though they have no voicemail or callback on the phones.

The system is an MXe running 5.0 sp2. Software load is 11.0.2.19. Majority of the phones are 5224's and afew 5330's.
