Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Forward a user to a cell phone

2 questions

I have a user that is wanting to work from home. They took a phone (5320) with them and found a laptop universal adapter to make it power on. There PC is connected after it and is online. The phone is not getting an IP address, I had them connect the phone and make sure the teleworker was set to the WAN IP. It is not coming online. There are other phones used remotely around the world.

Is there something obvious that I am probably missing?


Question 2
The work around for the phone not coming on was to forward  there phone to a cell phone.
If I call into the main queue and put in there extension it hangs up on me. If I call the phone internally then the forward goes to the cell properly. So we are just having customers ask to be transferred.
Is there a better way to forward to an external number?
Is there a way to add an external number to MICC?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Call accounting

My customer is using a RSI call accounting software and they are getting reports.

Those reports do not include the account code which is mandatory for long distance calls, this makes it difficult to charge the correct department for the boardroom phone.

Is there somewhere obvious that I am missing to add those?

I have a customer that wants to use the same bluetooth headset that he uses for his cell phone. We have gotten it to connect and he is able to answer calls but not initiate them. Also the noise cancellation is not functioning and there is a hum.

We also noticed in the bluetooth module settings that the software for the module is dated as 2011.

Is there any way to update the software to something newer?

This is a new system running 6.2

We need a aftermarket headset for a 5220. What would be a good recommendation for those?

I am setting up a new system and my customer wants the calls to be put on hold automatically.
I told them I don't think that is possible. I set them up to have all calls go to a Hunt group and play the MOH file.

Now they are asking if there is a way we can have the phones stop ringing after about 3 rings.

There are 3 receptionists using 5340e phones and all need to be able to answer any calls. They have 1 line that is a direct line that rings all the time.

They want the line keys to be a different colour when someone calls in.

"As per our conversation today for our phones after the patient goes on automatic hold, if the ringer volume can be muted after some rings (3-6) but still blinking and have different LED color?"

As I said I don't know if this is possible but figured I would ask the brilliant people on this forum.

It seems my customer is losing part of voicemails when forwarding them to other people on the system.
They have a general mailbox that people leave messages and have had to resort to writing out customer VM instead of sending it.

Any thoughts on what a solution to this might be?
Is there a forwarding limit?

I have a client that is getting random one-way audio.

The customer can hear them but the agent cannot hear the customer.  One of the managers was doing call monitoring at the time and could hear both sides of the conversation fine.

This is a release 7.2 SP1 Pr1 system with PRI.

What do I do to check for audio issues in the logs or in tracing?

I have a client that has added a new user. In the past when they changed agents we just renamed the user and CCC updated that info overnight.
This time they have expanded to a completely new user. Is there a command to export the 3300 info to CCC?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / ring multiple outside numbers

I have a customer that wants something I can't figure out a nice way for.

They want to set up an option for customer to dial 5 for emergencies. This should call on onduty cell phone, if that is not answered then call another cell phone, if still not answered then leave a message on the voicemail box and send a vm to email to someone.

I have been able to setup DEE to do this but it will only call the mobile numbers if I assign it to a logged in hot desk user or a desk phone.

It seems a bit wasteful to buy another phone just for emergencies.

Any ideas?

I am new to the Mitel 3000 product. I have been tasked with finding a DID number for one of our agents.

This is a version 7.2 SP1 PR1. We also have a Contact center with no admin access.

We have a T1 connection.

Where would I find the list of DIDs in the system or find how calls move through the system?

I am fairly new to the 3300 and working on an older system.

The customer is complaining that one of their agents voice on the recording is very quiet. The customers are also complaining about low audio.
This is a call center type environment with COS the same for many agents and this is the only one with this problem. The agent in question is usually quite loud in person.

Any suggestions?

I have a 6.2 Mitel system running in our office.
We wanted to save a few dollars and port a land line to our SIP provider.

I have a SL extension setup as a house phone to dial 8.
I wired the SL port to the alarm feed wire. Then connected the Out of the alarm to the Fax machine.

The fax picks up and dials normally.

I was told this week that the contact center has not received any communication from our alarm system for a while. Possibly since this was done (about a year ago) or since our network provider switched us to a 150 MB service about 6 months ago.

Has anyone done this before and had it work properly?

I have a new customer that wants to keep their old 6731i phones.
I have convinced them to change the main phone and the remote phones to Mitel phones so the BLF functionality will work.


I have been unable to get a test phone to show that a message is waiting. Is there something obvious that should be selected that I may have overlooked?


They also want to keep some kind of voicemail transcription service similar to their current provider. Is there an add on that would do this function?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Stuck at DHCP discovery-Dead phone?

I have a customer that just sent me a ticket about a phone that stopped loading.

They are running 6.1.3.27

I cleared the PIN and had them do a factory reset on the phone by pressing Volume Up-->Config-->Tools and Features-->REstore defaults

There was no change.
The phone begins to load and then gets to

DHCP: Discovery
Main version 06.03.00.14

Then it just hangs and does nothing. This is a 5320.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

I have a client with a 6.1.4.64 version of the Office 250

When the Person A is on the phone with external call and Person B tries to call them on an internal call Person B gets a busy notification and busy tone for about 4 seconds before the call goes through.

How do I either make this go much faster or stop the busy signal entirely?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Remote Username programming

I have a customer with 6 systems all running as NODES over VPN tunnels. Versions 5.0-6.1

They want to change the username on a phone at a remote location.  I gave them instructions to do Programming Database(932) through the phone and that works on their node but not on an extension at a remote node.


Is there a way to do that?
