Title: Exchange Mitel question
Post by: doctora on November 29, 2010, 04:44:20 PM
We have Exchange 2010 configured as voicemail.  When a vocie mail is left there is a footer with caller id information.  We have some executives that would like it if there name was displayed but the caller id appeared as there assistants number. We are using 4.1 SP1 10.1.1.11_2.

Thank you
Mark

I thought there might be a way to alter the phone extension in the mitel switch.  They execs would like if there number always showed up as the asssitants number(not just on the exchange footer) but with their name.

Thanks for trying
Mark

I have my doubts about this working, but can you post a screen shot of the footer?

Maybe some kind of combination using a personal ring group would work - but that is going to depend a lot on how they want their call flows to work....

I think whatever you do, the secretaries line will show up on the internal caller ID as well.  Perhaps just do a Multicall button on their phones that is set to not ring.  Program that button with the exec's name  - and also place it on the secretaries phone, set to ring?  Then the exec can use that line when he wants to have the calls come back on the secretaries phone?

That sounds like a good way for us.  Most of the time they would want to use the assistants line over their own.  Is there a way to auto select that appearance instead of their main appearance.

Thanks for your help so far.

I don't think so - as far as I have seen, it will always select their main line (button 1) when the handset is lifted...
