Isn't the SysID on the CRC card on the 2K (been a while since I've seen one)? In which case, you just need to swap the MC3E and use the IP SHOW, IP COMMIT, etc. commands to set the IP on the new card.

You'll have to reboot the controller for the change to take effect.

The RTC console is accessed via the DB-9 RS-232 serial connector (19200bps, 8-N-1) on the front of the controller marked "Maintenance". Be careful when using this interface, you can easily do pretty destructive things like rebooting the system or deleting critical files from the filesystem very easily from this interface.

As far as how the controller can have multiple IP addresses, it has an internal L2 switch that is configured via the System IP Configuration form, so check that for your duplicate IP. That also explains why the mystery MAC is only one off from the known RTC MAC address, as they're both in the controller itself.

yes, I have already done this. I guess I was wondering if there was a command one could type in on the pbx searching for a particualr MAC? I cannot find the one mac anywhere.

"arptabShow" from the RTC console prompt will tell you the MAC address of every device that's communicated with the 3300 within the last 10 minutes or so.

« on: September 20, 2013, 08:56:05 AM »
Did a little research on this. As far as I can tell, VxWorks has no native command to set the system clock, any change to that has to come from a program. So, unless there's something buried in the base RTC bootstrap (which according to tech support is not documented or supported), looks like this is actually not possible.

That's from ESM. I need to know if this can be done direct from the RTC shell (putty session to socket 2002 or serial connection to "maintenance" port). In my case, this is an attempt to work around an online upgrade with scheduled data preservation interrupted by the site losing power. After power restores, the 3300 doesn't boot up far enough that I can go in via ESM to set the clock, RTC shell is all I get.

« on: September 19, 2013, 03:33:39 PM »
Anyone know the command syntax for setting the clock from the RTC shell? I'm 99% sure there's a way to do it. Part of a larger experiment I'm trying to work around a situation that caused an upgrade to fail on me.

Why not just use ARS to either strip the unnecessary leading digits or block the calls, forcing the users to dial the extensions the right way?

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Block an incomming telephone number

NuPoint can do it. You have to send the call to a Call Director box, then apply a Caller-ID filter to the CD call flow, add the number you wish to block to the list, and set the destination action for "Listed" to hangup.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Schedule Reboot
« on: September 12, 2013, 04:03:55 PM »
Mitel Tech Support will tell you that you never have to do a programmed reboot any more, but I find that depending on the application and what software release, somewhere between weekly and monthly will keep things running smoothly.

As far as the trouble you describe, I don't think the log message shown is related to that, I see similar messages frequently even on a freshly rebooted controller. On the system that rings busy until a reboot, what's the setup look like (controller model, software release, trunk types involved, etc.)?

PF should be collecting the SMDR data coming out of the 3300, all you need to do is find where it's stored.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Reports on Silent monitor
« on: September 12, 2013, 02:41:51 PM »
Assuming you don't have a call accounting package or are still using OpsManager, the easiest way to get the SMDR data would be to set up a PC to connect to TCP port 1752 of the 3300's RTC IP address. That will give you the SMDR data as the calls complete. Pipe that data into whatever software you wish to analyze/manipulate it.

Sounds like there's only one port set up in the incoming fax line group. Check your Offline configuration and see if you can borrow more ports from something else. I believe you can have up to 6 ports in the fax line group, but I can't be sure without knowing what model/software version.
