Mitel Software Applications / Re: Creating "OPS Manager only" user
« on: December 09, 2013, 10:57:08 AM »
They have to be a member of one of the 5 default Security Groups, as those are mapped to the different OpsManager access levels. I don't believe these mappings can be changed.

Well in that case the obvious first place to look would be whatever device on the carrier end the T1 terminates to (I'm assuming a digital cross-connect system of some sort), since channels 6-23 are obviously optioned differently than the rest somewhere along the path.

The only thing I can think of that would effect individual channels like that would be a CSU/DSU.

Or lack of one?

Well on the Mitel end you don't need one because the T1 card handles the functionality. But what's on the other end?

I wasn't aware the SMDR buffer size was configurable, but then I normally work on older (MCD 4.0 or older) systems. If you need more record storage, you should be using either a buffer box of some sort or collecting the SMDR data stream to a PC (TCP port 1752 of the RTC IP address puts out the records as they are generated, just telnet to that and store the output).

I've never seen a hardware failure on the Mitel that would only impact specific channels on a circuit. I'm assuming the system has enough DSP and E2T resources as well. The only thing I can think of that would effect individual channels like that would be a CSU/DSU.

The only thing on the 3300 that could be different for each channel on the T1 that I can think of is the circuit descriptor on the trunk. Is there a CSU/DSU somewhere in the path that needs channels 6-23 enabled or configured differently? That's the only other thing I can think of.

I've been able to use IE 11 on an MCD 4.0 using compatibility mode, though I haven't tried any backups or exports yet.

Assuming you've verified that all references to the removed node have in fact been removed from programming, try rebooting the controller still putting up the alarm, that should take care of it.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / New MCD 4.0 release
« on: November 13, 2013, 09:50:17 AM »
Just a heads-up, there's a new MCD 4.0SP4 release (10.0.4.26) out there for anyone still working on upgrading a network from classic mode to GDM. According to the release notes, this is the recommended release for performing the migration as it has a few more SDS bug fixes and some migration tools added. Looks like it went up on MOL on the 8th.

Guess I know what I'm doing in my test lab this week...

The MXe fans are available as a field replacement part from Mitel. I believe the same fans are still used in the current model. Part number is 50005683.

The reason the DHCP Static IP assignment form is giving you an error is because there is no DHCP address range defined to assign the static IP from! You don't need to put anything in that form, just assign the phone a static IP from the phone's configuration menu (hold down the "volume up" arrow when you plug the phone in).

Check the IIS settings on the CCM server, I bet the web service hasn't been updated with the new IP address.

looking at the Trunk Service Assignment record for the trunks the calls come in on would be a good start. There's several different ways to route a DID/DDI call to a path with a different DN than the digits being passed from the telco, Trunk Service would be the first place to look for any incoming digit modifcation, then I'd look at System Speed Call Assignment.

I assume this is what you're talking about. I guess nothing is entered in there. but I'm not using DHCP, I would like to keep everything addressed using static addresses.

The issue here is the form you're trying to enter the new static IP assignment is "DHCP Static IP assignment". This means the static IP assigned to the MAC of the device has to belong to a valid DHCP address range. Since you don't have any ranges defined, you're getting the error. The other working sets that have static IP's are probably set at the phone itself through the config menu.

Do you have anything programmed in "Path Unavailable Answer Point Directory Number" for the ACD path? Once your last agent logs out, that should be where calls to the ACD path get routed (I think, I'm a bit rusty on my ACD).
