Title: 3300 8.0 MXe twinning issue
Post by: Crowtalks on March 15, 2017, 02:30:49 PM
I am attempting to set up twinning on a 8.0 3300 that uses multi-device licensing.

I created a No-Device Hot desk, multi-device DN and I added it as a member of the multi device group of the main set.

I created a speedcall that rings the customer's cell and dialed the speedcall DN to verify that it works.

I set route always for the Hot Desk DN to the speedcall DN.

I added the Hot Desk DN as a personal presence key on the main set along with a Handoff key.

I press the personal presence key and the indicator lights, but when I press HandOff, it says not allowed.

I have looked at the COS but nothing leaps out at me...

Any ideas?

Thanks, Jim

I had forgotten to override toll, I'll check it...

Thanks, Jim

When I create a twinned device for a mobile, I create a 2nd DN, then select "External Hot Desking Enabled" on the Service Details tab, and then put in the mobile number.
Then I add the 2nd DN to the MDUG of the 1st DN.
Then I give the user a "Personal Group Presence" key so they can toggle the Presence of their mobile in the MDUG.

What is the Speed Dial for?

Do it the same. I use another COS that has permanent login enabled for this device

I find "permanent login" is fine enabled for all of the user devices.
It doesn't stop people from logging into a handset wherever they want.
I think maybe it logs them straight back onto their phone after they reboot their phone for whatever reason. Or maybe something else is making that happen. Either way, it's good.

I guess I had forgotten how to do this since the last time (two years ago).

I almost had it, but I forgot about the external HD number in the form.

I had an EHDU COS assigned. I'll strip the Speed dials I had built and see if it works.

Thanks for the interest and the pointers, Jim
