Dear ALL,
I am using a Mitel Mivoice MXe 3300 ICP. I want to set up a fax line with two of the integrated analog lines. I've put the fax extension number on the analog port, but if I call the extension it is showing Out of Service.
Is there anything else I need to set before it works?
Can some one help with this?
Thanks in advance.

Have you programmed the analog ports? often, depending on the way the system was first set up, they don't get programmed at the beginning. Look in the help files for instructions. It is fairly easy to do.

I will X-man.
Thanks, for your words.

You could also delete one of the numbers on the Analog Port and recreate it as a Speed Call pointing to the real Fax Extension Number
-
If you have a number on the analog sets form, AND if you have a DID pointing at this number then it should give you ring tone when you ring it, before you even patch anything to it.
If it doesn't ring, then you are likely to have missed a step.
Maybe you haven't done the "Program Embedded Analog" step - check the Help file. It's 3 mouse clicks and it's done.
-
If not setup, it will not allow you to program the set. It would appear that this is done. Maybe it was upgrading after turning on, or it might be a bad card
-
Also, I had one once that wouldn't ring. When I asked them to unpatch their fax machine, the number rang fine - it was their fax machine that was stopping it from ringing.

Thanks to all of you for your contribution.
I deleted and reprogrammed the analog number twice, before I suspect the fax machine. I have changed the fax machine and it is ok, working fine. I've sent and received to/from the two lines. It OK.
Once more thanks to all of you.
Bye.

So the out of service was due to the port being off hook too long
