Title: External LDAP access
Post by: dutch_tuga on February 04, 2020, 04:33:05 AM
Good day,

does anyone knows if when setting up the "external LDAP Client Configuration" for accessing an external directory on the 69xx phones, you still have access to the embedded phone directory? Do the users have access to both? I ask this because you have two profiles that you can setup under the "System Options".

LDAP Client Configuration Profile ID #1

Select the LDAP server profile that hosts corporate contacts, which is used for phonebook lookups by the Contacts application in the 69xx series IP phones.

Profiles are created using the LDAP Client Configuration form. Whenever the selected profile is changed, the new configuration data is sent to all connected clients.

NOTE: 69xx series phones are the only clients supported in the current release.

LDAP Client Configuration Profile ID #2

Select the external LDAP server profile that hosts additional directory data, which is used by the MiVoice Business LDAP client for Multilingual Name Display Using External LDAP on the 69xx series phones, 53xx IP phones, SIP and 5540 devices.

Haven't done it myself, but I'd be very surprised if you could do both LDAP and Phonebook lookups. That's the sort of thing that's usually a "one or the other" type of option from Mitel.
