Hello,
is anyone aware of any open-source API which let you automate a Mitel 5330 'phone?

Don't know about the API but your dealer should be able to hook you up with the HTML tool kit.

Look into Springs transaction API.

And yes, to answer your question.  If one of your operations fails you should be able to rollback at least the database the calls.
