Title: Mitel 5000 VSB in a network
Post by: Crowtalks on November 16, 2016, 12:28:31 PM
We have a customer with one of the Mitel 5000 VSB systems, that are software limited. Can these system accept the licenses needed to add it to a cluster?

Thanks, Jim

You have to upgrade it to a standard version, Mitel had stated previously that this was a forkklift operation, the hardware was limited... That being said, there was talk about an "upgrade license" our Mitel rep had mentioned a while back, haven't heard anything about it but then again we only sold a couple of them and haven't done anything to upgrade them since.

But you cannot just add a network license.

I found this info from Mitel...

Below is copied from the bulletin that announced the VSB packages.

Mitel 5000 VSB 8 * 16 Starter Kit NA (4 ports of UVM)
Product Notes(s):
Maximum Supported devices 24 of which 16 are digital and
8 are IP (either Cat D or Cat F)
Includes the Mitel 5000 HX Controller are power supply and
16 digital extension ports and associated licenses.
Also includes a range of system licenses including DEE¸
Hotdesking¸ Meet Me Conferencing and 4 ports of UVM
This package comes with the 1Gb Compact Flash module
and the basic networking (6 channels).

So it seems it can be networked with another 5000
