just for testing both the key pad and the pc are on the voice vlan and will not speak but i can ping between them fine

the red light does go out when its connected via the desk

it will attempt to connect to the keypad but never does

How about if you had a 6160 server with ANI enabled

add the DDI or DID number to the ANI form then route that to a main number of to a phone that is out of service ?
