Title: Mitel phone not pairing with handset
Post by: ScottL on December 21, 2017, 02:55:40 PM
We have a phone that has set idle for months. Got a new user, assigned them this phone.

I can't get a handset to pair with the phone.

Here's what I have tried: It is a new handset, DECT Bluetooth module, charging plate, and telephone base (so, new everything). The only thing that is the same is the hotdesk extension. The wire loop was missing, so I used a piece of foil to make the connection.

The previous user had complained of another issue - her phone would blink that she had voicemail every morning, but there was no voicemail. New user says he's getting the same problem.

I checked settings between the hotdesked phone in question and another hotdesked phone that works properly. They all match, except for the MAC, of course.

When I try to pair the devices, I get blue blinking lights on the phone and the handset, as normal. Nothing happens after that. The process times out.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Scott

You used a piece of foil to make the connection?!?! Aren't there 4 pins and only 2 need to be looped together?

Yup, seems to be working now.

I've found that you can use a flea clip from a hard drive to jumper the pins necessary

Thanks for the tip! I have a box of old hard drives, and motherboards, I'll pick through them.
