I am using an ONSP analog line that I need to disable call waiting on. There is no voicemail associated with the line, I just need it to ring busy if the line is in use and someone else calls the line. Can't figure out the right flag in Class of Service to make it happen this way though.
Thanks

In the COS of the line, blank the auto camp on timer.

Blanked the Auto Camp Timer, but it still flashes in on the line and rings on the callers end.

Blanking that timer should have resolved it. Now I'm not sure what's happening.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "flashing in" on the line.
You can also turn on "Campon Tone Security / Fax Machine" That way if it doesn't get a busy at least it wont disrupt the call in progress.
This is from the help files:
This option applies only to sets without softkeys, ONS stations, and trunks calls. Sets with softkeys do not require auto camp-on since they provide a "Wait" soft key that gives the user control over camp-on.
Since you're using ONS ports it should apply.

I just mean that if that line is in use, when someone calls it "beeps" in on them. I know the manual says that blanking the auto camp on timer will provide busy to another caller, but it still functions the same. With it blanked, I can call the extension and open up the line, then if I call from a second line it still rings. I'm at a loss. Is there anything that could be set on the ONSP card or the Per Node that could affect this?

Also, just for clarification, I'm talking about calling the line using a direct dial opposed to dialing the extension number. I'm not concerned at all about how the line reacts during ext dialing, just when calling the DID.

Its in the class of service for the trunks

Perfect!! Now I'm getting somewhere. I blanked the Trunk COS and it indeed gave a busy then. Now, how do I assign a seperate COS trunk to an individual extension? I just need this one line to act this way. Thanks for all you guys help!

Don't think you can. Not without assigning a whole new inbound trunk group.

Is there any way to just dedicate one channel off of the PRI in a seperate trunk group just for that one extension? I know it would kill one channel from the PRI, but I have plenty of growth left on the PRI so dedicating that one channel wouldn't hurt the pool, if that is even feasible.

That would have to be done by your carrier. They control the inbound trunking.

Are the users on single line phones? This should only matter if they don't have a second line.

We have 2 PRIs feeding our system. We supply resident lines off of ONS cards installed in various per nodes. All the resident phones are analog, and we advertise call waiting (which most of them use). We just have a single resident that wants it turned off. We also don't supply voicemail on the lines, they use their own answering machine. That's why I'm just trying to accomplish this on this one extension. The analog lines are all single line, but all except this one needs to be able to hookflash a second call. Always someone that has to have something different, sigh....
The flag mentioned above worked beautifully to kill the incoming alert for a second call, I'm now just trying to figure out how to busy out the second caller.
Thanks for all your help, you guys have been great!

OK got it lets try something else
In the stations class of service of the PITA set the camp on recall timer to 0 and see what happens.

Tried it but no change.
