Title: missing caller id name
Post by: Pensmith on June 09, 2010, 05:29:34 PM
Hi,

I had to reprogram my 200ICP after the hard drive failed.  The last nagging issue is caller id name.
For some odd reason I only see the number.  This used to work and my telco is sending name and number.
When I monitor SMDR I see the last 4 of the inbound DID where I should see the caller name.

It's a SX-200_ICP_3.1.0.11 MX

Any ideas?

Bill

Thanks, I do have those set.

I heard a rumor my firmware version had a bug and doesn't do the caller id name properly.

Most of my customers are mid-sized hotel/motel so I haven't had much demand for that feature and wouldn't have come across that bug.  Were you able to reload a working full backup or was this a manual reprogramming?

I can't speak much to the 200, but I do know how to look at the raw Q.931 (layer 2) traces.  This seems to work on 200's as well as 3300's although I'm not sure:

To turn on Q931 tracing:
Secure telnet to port 2002
enter these commands

g_prisp_hdlc_cc 1
g_prisp_traceverbose 1

be sure to turn off tracing using the same commands

andsg_prisp_hdlc_cc 1
g_prisp_traceverbose 1

The caller ID name is coded in ASCII under Protocol Profile (Networking Extensions)
