I was considering that with the 5304, but this is one of those "cutting edge" customers and would prefer that I don't have to jerry rig something up (let me clarify I have done this similarly with Samsung products in the past)

I have downloaded the tool direct from Valcom and it allows you to change the IP and other miscellaneous stuff, but I see no options for sending registration information.

Can somebody walk me through how to set this up if it's even possible.

Here's the scenario:

Mitel 5000 at MDF and 100 or so phones

There is a remote site with a fiber link between the buildings (about 1000 feet away.) Mitel stuff is on the same VLAN at both offices. There is no copper between the offices, even if there were I think it would be too much loop to run analog paging (there is analog paging at the main office.)

I tried to set up a Valcom VIP801A at the remote office as a SIP extension and then found out you can't add SIP extensions to paging groups. I guess that kinda makes sense. Thought I would try to dial the SIP extension direct, but it rings busy. I think it may be authentication issue, but could use a little additional brain power to get this thing going. I don't see anywhere in the limited Valcom interface where you can change authentication to match the assigned passcode on the 5000 SIP extension.

Anybody ever tackle something like this?

Yep, tried that first, per the other post. Also, I noticed just in the image I posted that long distance numbers are not showing the area code. Believe me when I say this is definitely something new.

This just started. I believe that previously the phones displayed "8" and the phone number in call history, maybe just the phone number by itself as ARS was in place.

Now, the system pushes the entire "92001" as a prefix to the phone number and my customer is freaking out. How in the world do you get it to display only "8" or the number by itself?

This question has been asked once before, but a resolution was never clear.

See below.

Simple scenario. Customer doesn't want to use dynamic extension, and I don't want to program 80+ dynamic extensions anyway. We just programmed ARS and the customer is use to dialing 356 to forward calls when they need to. Now, ARS treats 356 as a long distance call and attempts to route it accordingly.

Is there a way to get ARS to ignore specific digit inputs? If so, how?

There appears to be a boss/secretary (or equivalent screened transfer) button in the third softkey position.

I need a button to turn tones on in the rare event that the console is used as a phone (my client is a university and has codes for long distance)

Still chugging along with a 200 after all these years...

Log into the admin mailbox with the (all 9s) mailbox.  From there you can change the other passwords.
I would suspect though that the hack came either in the 0 box or another.
Best thing to do is to block the VM ports from dialing out via COR.

Ralph

when I log in to 999 though, I have no idea what that password is. I've tried 0000, 9999, 1111, 1234, etc. I suspect it was changed in the attack...

Mitel SX200, SX2000, and older SX platforms / Hacked Express Messenger
« on: January 30, 2014, 10:11:14 AM »
One of my customers, a small university, is in the process of reviewing bids (including ours) for a new PBX. In the meantime, we still have this SX200 to maintain.

System hacked, int'l calling outbound through VM, 0 rerouted to an off premise phone number and admin password changed.

We don't really have any guys who can work on these anymore, so here I am scouring Google for a backdoor password. I found the technician password info, but as far as any instructions on how to reset the admin password through that avenue, I'm at a loss.

Can someone give me any assistance? PM is okay.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: 5320 Station Speed Dial with a #?

It can be done!  I do it all the time and the trick is that you must work around the 16-digit maximum in station speed dials.  In the example you show I'd probably set up a new phantom PERMANENTLY forwarded to the 11-digit outside number, ext no longer than 3 digits.  Then on the original phantom cut it back to 3 digits max, pass 3 digits also.  Set up your Sta Spd for 359, old phantom, pass#, 355, new phantom.  Now everything fits in 16 digits.

That is awesome!

Feature Code Key inserts a * or #, now I'm just limited by the allowable number of characters, sigh.... :'(

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / 5320 Station Speed Dial with a #?
« on: September 16, 2013, 03:58:09 PM »
Ya know how on a 5340 the display gives you the option to insert a # so that the phone doesn't think you're just trying to save your entry when you press #?

Is there a workaround for 5320 phones? Here's what I'm trying to do:

Customer wants a speed dial button that will allow them to forward their phantom (9999) to an external number. As of right now, the process is this:

359
9999
1234#
355
8
1-800-xxx-xxxx

If I can't simplify this with a station speed dial, is there a way to use the system speed dial? I tried it but the sys speed dial always seems to grab a channel automatically...

I know on Samsung OfficeServs you can search for where x#### appears in programming... there's no way to find references to an extension without going through each individual value in the 5000 is there?

The reason I ask...

I inherited a system at a car dealership, 60+ users, 2x100 DID Blocks. I didn't program the system initially, but my predecessor left an associated extension SOMEWHERE that points to a user on the PBX. This guy gets ~40+ voicemails over the weekend, usually hangups, and it could take some time to isolate the root of the problem.

Any suggestions, other than to just suck it up and do it?

It’s not the phantom being put into DND, but the station of the person forwarding calls off-site.

Yep, and I tried that, but no light...

Everything else works, but changing the DND status doesn't do squat... obviously I'm missing something trivial...

14
It's funny this issue is so recent, because I'm trying to do the exact same thing...

But I don't understand how to put the phantom in DND?

Create the phantom forwarding as Ace described, but enable it with a DND forward path. Put a DSS key on everyone's phone for that station, and they'll see it flash when it's in DND, indicating the calls are forwarded.

Thanks to both of you. I used Stix's suggestion the same day and it worked like a charm. Its kind of a roundabout way, but it works!
