Unfortunately "...something you changed inadvertently on the file..." and "...cells must be formatted as text..." - That is not possible, the file is password locked. You can't even adjust the column width to see all content.
I followed your advise and added just 1 row and was successful. Then I could import 50 devices (MAC addresses) with dummy users.
Anyway, the design of this bulk feature is, for my opinion, very bad. The handling with an Excel file is very inconvenient.
Of course the data is available as an Excel file (mac addresses, user names, etc.).
But the import format should be a CSV file, regardless how this file is created, with predefined headers and so on.
The export Excel file is password locked and has macros active. Every time you switch to the file, the macro is executed. This takes a long time for many lines and the clipboard is also emptied.
So you can't simply copy a lot of data from another Excel spreadsheet.
Anyway, finally I was successful, and thank you for your help.
