Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Voice Quality Monitor and Statistics
« on: September 29, 2016, 04:39:00 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
I'm wanting to know if it is possible to extend the VQ Stats output to historically track back much further? (Voice Quality Statistics Form) I have found this in the help portion of the vMCD I'm working on.

I'm very curious to know about the section I have boxed out in RED, concerning the "Report Generation Capabilities of Enterprise Manager" or this "Voice Quality Monitoring" tool they talk about. If anyone could give me some insight, that would be awesome!

Thanks,
-Iron

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel Cabinets (HX and CS)
« on: August 12, 2016, 06:51:52 PM »
Hello Mitel Folks,
As we're all aware, Mitel has two current flavors of cabinet for the MiVoice Office 250 platform (Mitel 5000). I was curious if anyone here knew what the "HX" or "CS" stood for (if anything).

Thanks,

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / UC360's and Device Type
« on: July 29, 2016, 06:13:18 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
Was curious if anyone knows what benefit(s) you get when your set the Device Type for UC360's to "UC Endpoint" versus "Generic SIP" on the MCD. Both seem to work as the UC360 registers with the MCD with no issues, but was just curious if anyone knew. I know the manual states you need to be programming it on the MCD with the "UC Endpoint" parameter.

Thanks,
-Iron

Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
Does anyone here know if the MCD can send out alert emails when there is an SDS alarm or when any alarm clears?

Thanks,

Hello Fellow Mitel 5000 Techs,
I attempted a CPU upgrade via USB (From 6.0.9.61 to 6.1.4.57), I've only done one CPU ever and am trying to recall the procedures. It is an HX Cabinet with a 2GB CF card.

Steps taken:
1) Obtain a copy of the MiVoice Office 250 database (Full Backup)
2) Using the MiVoice Database Utilities, test for errors, make corrections if any and convert to newest version.
3) Using the LCD Panel on the front, performed the USB upgrade (Front LCD Panel on the HX Cabinet said "USB Upgrade Successful".
4) Using the LCD Panel again, checked the version number, still read as the old version.
5) Shutdown cabinet and restarted, checked version again, still read as old version.

Not really sure what I am missing here, After reading documentation on upgrading, it said something about obtaining a "License" from AMC, though I don't recall ever doing that for the previous upgrade that I did. I'm sure I'm just missing a step or two here.

Thanks,
-Iron

Non-Mitel Chatter / Polycom 6000/7000 firmware upgrading
« on: July 12, 2016, 02:51:52 PM »
Hey all,
I thought I'd post a simple procedure on how to upgrade Polycom 6000/7000 firmware. Polycoms official documentation (In my opinion) is a bit lacking and could be a bit better in this arena. Thus I have created one way of how to go about this. (See attached) And....enjoy!  ;)

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel Database Utilities Question
« on: June 29, 2016, 05:23:09 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel 5000 Techs,
I am in the process of getting a customer moved over from an older version to the newer 6.1.4.57. I completed a back up and tested the database using the Mitel Database Utilities app. I ran into the following:

I do not have any digital sets with this Mitel system. (Only IP Phones) any idea on what Device 11 is? And also just looking at this it looks like it may be a "Key Map" type issue, would I be correct?

Thanks,
-Iron

Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
Got me a strange issue here, I'm hoping that someone has ran into this issue and is able to provide some assistance. System(s) in use are:
MiCollab with Voice: 6.0.206.0
NuPoint: 17.2.0.3
vMCD: 7.0 SP1 PR2

Issue: A caller calls in and leaves a voice mail in a users box, that box is licensed for "UCC Standard" which allows for voice mail to email. The message is delivered (and is set to deliver the "Audio Link" as opposed to the "Attachment") the user clicks on the audio link and media player launches and plays.....only the user hears Nothing. However when the user goes to the Mitel phone and dials into to VM and listens, he hears the message.

Any ideas as to why this is?

It should also be noted that this user gets their corporate email via their iPhone too, and same thing media player launches, but no audio.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Thanks,
-Iron

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Inbound call goes to wrong extension.
« on: April 18, 2016, 04:31:07 PM »
Hello fellow 5000 techs,
We have a customer that is having an intermittent issue, details on the system are:

System Ver: 6.0.9.61
Trunks: SIP
Phones: IP (Combo of 5330, 5320, 5312's)
Voice Mail: Embedded

The issue is when they make calls to their customers/clients (Which pushes out their DID) and if unanswered they end up leaving a message. That person calls them back using the number from their caller ID. But rather than going to the person who called them it goes to another person within the company. I'd like to reiterate that this issue is intermittent so it doesn't happen all the time. I'm working right now to find out the numbers in question and realize I may need to go into the SIP logs to check.

I'm currently fielding any other ideas/suggestions, which is appreciated.

Thanks,
-Iron

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Cannot Delete User(s)
« on: April 14, 2016, 01:34:30 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
We recently upgraded one of our customers MiVoice Business systems to 7.2 (Virtual). Since then it seems we are having a hard time deleting users. We keep encountering "Specified user has MiCollab Services attached and cannot be deleted". This system also has a vMAS attached. See below for screen shots.

The release notes I'm going off of are:

Any explanation on this would be appreciated!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Manual Software Install Assistance
« on: March 31, 2016, 02:14:11 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
I'm set to manually install a Mitel ICP Controller CX. This was a retired unit so the database that is currently in there can be wiped. Essentially we are to upgrade the system software to 7.2 for ensure factory defaults are in place for future use.

I have thus far attempted to run the MiVoice Business System Installer (With 13.2.1.25 software), which seemed to work but then got hung up on a process, I let it sit for 3 hours before calling it. Now the system will not boot to ESM at all. I have connected via VX Works but this being my 1st time installing the system software not really sure what to do.

I have Filezilla Server software and created a "User" called ftp and shared the 13.2.1.25 folder with this user. Not sure how to configure the VX Works so that it will go out and grab this software and install it.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
-Iron

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / UC360 Firmware on the 3300
« on: March 23, 2016, 12:12:41 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
I seem to recall reading somewhere that there is a spot on the 3300 in which you can manually put the UC360's firmware via FTP. And then point the UC360 to that spot to retrieve it. If I recall that correctly can someone tell me where you place that firmware in the MCD. Folder/Location.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Call History Differences
« on: March 18, 2016, 04:31:11 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Folks,
I was curious if someone could tell me why there are two ways to program "Call History". What are the differences? When you guys do program up a Call History button, which button do you mostly program it us as? (See the two ways I know of below)

Thanks for all input.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Hotline Restrictions
« on: February 18, 2016, 02:31:58 PM »
Hello Fellow Mitel Techs,
Just curious about the Hotline feature. One of our customers has a building that for their main entrance has a small room before you can access the rest of the building. in this small room there is a single phone (A Mitel 5330e). They are requesting that when a user picks up this handset (or goes off-hook via "Speaker") that it rings a group of people. I've gotten this to work. My question is, through testing it seems you are unable to dial anywhere else, would this be accurate? is it possible to dial either internally or externally when programmed like this? I got it programmed it via the "Associated Directory Numbers" form. (See below)

Where 1001 is the phone in the small room and 2001 is the extension it is going to. This is the only programming I have done and thus far seems to work well. Again, just no outbound/internal dialing whatsoever, via my testing. Which is just fine by the customer. But they want to be absolutely certain that no outbound dialing can happen on that phone.

Thanks,
-Iron
