Title: SX2000 does not start - getting BOOT verbose
Post by: mszodiac on November 24, 2015, 11:15:12 AM
Hi everyone.  I'm working on a microlight LW34 system which I can't get to fully start-up.  The output I get is the following:

BOOT verbose? (y)******
  SCSI Interrupt:  DSTAT = 0x00, SIST = 0x0400

Note that we're building the system with just the main controller, control resource, and peripheral resource card.  The main controller card shows "A1" on the faceplate.  I've attached a picture.

The hard drive has been replaced and the ribbon cable and power on the hard drive is good.

Any idea what's causing the SCSI Interrupt message, and why it's not booting?

Pulled up my old SX-2000 documentation, I don't see any info for the "A1" display. Make sure if you want to boot from the HDD there's nothing in the RSD drive, because the system will try to boot from the RSD if there's a disk inserted.

Update! We replaced the cabinet.  Must have been a bad back plane.  System now boots correctly, and takes me to main login prompt.
