Mitel Software Applications / call doesn't drop to voicemail?
« on: July 19, 2014, 10:52:40 AM »
Hey folks, again.
Ok, so I've done this several dozen times with no problems... Now I'm tearing my hair out trying to figure what I'm missing.
I have a 5330e on extension 292. I've added a user in MAS and assigned that user to 292. I then added a new mailbox to that user with FCOS 12. The extension exists, and the mailbox exists, but when the extension is called, it never drops to voicemail. It just rings out forever. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Thank you sir,
That sounds like a viable option. The email forwards seem quite reliable, so I think that will do. I will have to forewarn the user of this possibility, but I don't think it'll be a problem.

We'll test that next week and make sure that's going to work. (Of course, my colleague will also need to be mindful of checking his email regularly as well, but I suppose that goes without saying...)

Thanks so much,
dg

Hey folks,
We have NuPoint running fine with SMTP sending enabled. We are not using IMAP or Exchange, so any VM's are stored in NuPoint, and a duplicate sent via SMTP.

Since I get voicemail attachments in email on my cell and office, it is really not necessary to also need to listen/delete them on my phoneset (since I have already heard them.) Is there a way to just send them out via SMTP and -not- store them in NuPoint at all? I have another user in a similar situation me who just hates the MWI. I know I could disable the MWI itself, but the messages would still collect in NuPoint and eventually max out.

I tried setting message count to 0 in LCOS, but it won't take that number.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you need a "personal ring group" (PRG)

Thank you. I had played with this idea as well, but was afraid of having two personal ring groups pointing at each other. We like the appearance a bit better since he can see what's ringing. I may actually change that to a ringing DSS instead of an appearance, but either way, these all work.

Thanks again,

Forward 600 to the NuPoint via the System Rerouting form.
Then in the NuPoint edit mailbox 200 and add 600 as an alternate extension.
Then add a MWI key for 200 on extension 600.

Ralph

Thanks Ralph. That works. Turns out I had already added 600 as an alternate, so we're good there. No way to have the "big" MWI show on 600 for a VM in 200?

Thanks again,

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / two extensions to act as one
« on: March 12, 2014, 10:14:19 AM »
Hi Gang,
I have a user who works at two offices across the street from each other on alternate days, say extensions 200 and 600.
200 has a NuPoint VM, 600 does not. We want them both to ring if either are called, and have VM go to 200 (if 600 is called). Obviously when 200 is called, it goes to the VM as expected, but 600 just rings out.

We'd like to figure out how to get both to essentially act as one. We can't use a hotdesk user because of tenanting and various ring/pickup groups, paging and EMS for each location. (I wish it were that simple!)

I have a multiline appearance on each for the other, so the ring issue is largely solved, but I'm wondering the best way to have calls made to 600 end up at the NuPoint VM box for 200, and in a perfect world, both WMI would be lit if 200 has a message. (We already have a WMI on a button at 600, but I'd like to see the real WMI working on that extension)

Can 600 be added as a second phone on the NuPoint box for 200? If I do a reroute alternate from 600 to NuPoint, I assume NuPoint won't know it's supposed to go to 200.

I'm sure there are various creative ways to deal with this, so I'm interested to hear some opinions.

Thanks for your input,

That is good info, thanks. I've found that COS option and will test.
By the way, what is 8.0 UR1? We're running release level 6.0 SP1, active software load 12.0.1.24.
(Sorry to be a noob - I'm the system admin here and the installer didn't really train me much at all.)

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Disable MWI but not envelope button
« on: February 28, 2014, 10:43:19 AM »
Hi folks,
We're using a 3300/NuPoint setup here, recently installed. I've had some requests to disable the top MWI lamp on a 5330e/5340e but leave the envelope lamp enabled, when there is a message waiting. I can't seem to fine anything about this. Can it be done?

I suppose an alternative would be to just disable them both and then add a MWI button as a programmable key instead, but first I'd need to know if the hard key and or top lamp can be disabled as well.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!
