Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / calling 101 from mitel 3300 system
« on: March 04, 2015, 04:32:14 AM »
Hi,

One of our staff has informed me that they are trying to call the police non-emergency number from within our phone system. The number is 101 so user would dial 9 for outside line followed by 101... i've tried this so appears to be a setting as all phones do the same after dialing it waits 5 seconds or so and returns access denied on the phone?
I assume we will have the same issue with our 999 emergency police number too. Can someone advise me how i allow these 2 calls to go through?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ralph i've located it and turned on the features you mentioned. So if i allow this to run for a day i can do the catalog info command and it will display results in the console? As just wondered how it records as says 10 files...

Thanks again

Thanks for the information Ralph.

Is this the best test to do at certain times of the day to establish if all channels are busy then? I'm just trying to prove that the problem we seem to experience is down to this rather than paying the extra rental costs for the other 10 channels to be enabled.

Thanks in advance.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / ISDN30 query
« on: December 04, 2014, 05:11:31 AM »
Hi,

We have a Mitel 3300 system with around about 80 phones now live, reduced dramatically due to other organisations in the same building having their own cisco solutions etc...

The query i have is we have a couple of referral centres in the building around about 30 staff in total so take a large number of calls daily. I've had lots of reports of callers unable to get through, or calls ringing then dropping or the RAD greeting callers are meant to receive after 1 ring doesnt kick in and the phone just rings and rings in its own little world and others getting an engaged tone from people informing me...

I contacted our ISDN provider who said we have a ISDN30 connection but with only 20 channels live. I've asked them to quote for the extra's to be enabled as i suspect at certain times of the day calls are peaking and would i be right in saying say the 21'st active caller on the current setup would get a engaged tone or just ring out?
Is there commands to show me there are only 20 channels live at present or any commands/tools that would be useful to know what exactly is happening? Or would simply enabling the additional 10 channels resolve this issue as a common cause?

Help much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel 3300 RAD greeting issue
« on: October 23, 2014, 10:35:39 AM »
Hi,

we have a public facing number that when called kicks into a RAD greeting announcement. The system is a Mitel 3300 on a ISDN30 line. Reports have been made by callers that the announcement loops a couple of times and then drops the call completely? Also that there is a message sometimes that says about purchasing he tape!? i can only assume that may be the audio that plays between messages? Does anyone have an idea of the cause? Is it call volume? could a certain amount of calls be coming through and are in the queue as all lines are busy? potentially have 10 phones that will pick up from this one number but if they are all busy how many can the system hold before dropping callers? Or would this not be the cause? I've no idea what will trigger the purchase tape bit either? I believe it played some royalty free classical music between the RAD greetings.

Thanks again.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel 3300 phone call issues
« on: August 29, 2014, 05:12:19 AM »
Hi,

We have a call centre in the building. Unsure whether its just due to the amount of incoming/outgoing calls that are made if it just relates to them or is in fact everyone...

A number of complaints have been made that callers are calling in and its just rings and rings... This was tested recently by a member of staff who called the number given out and never got the recorded announcement but just a ringing tone and this was ringing on a member of staffs desk phone.

The process that was setup was that all incoming calls go to the RAD announcement advising them to stay on the line etc... but am being told this seems to be working intermittently, some callers are getting and engaged tone or it is ringing out and greeting message hasn't initiated?

Im just wondering where to start with this? there are 15 extensions that all have a feature key that flashes as to what line the calls coming in on. Just trying to identify if this is a local configuration issue or if it is in fact the carrier?

I do seem to have issues with the system when we have had a heavy downpour which or carrier did say if it was old copper cabling it could be in fact that contributing to strange symptoms? It does seem a coincidence.

Just wondering if anyone could advise what i can check locally?

Thanks in advance!

thanks guys,

in calling the number from my mobile whilst stood next to one of the PA's whos receiving all the calls the PA's phone rings straight away. the display says fwd from 2347 (the ex PA's number) and one of the 24 feature keys lights up so i'll check what that is actually configured as? As assume all other PA's must have one of them keys setup as a feature of sorts?

She did also say to me the lady whos no longer a PA that her phone makes a brief ring noise (this is when the PA's get a call)

Kind regards

Hi,

Thanks for the comments... I have noticed in speaking to the PA it appears that its when the calls are coming into this person at her new team and she is on her phone in rings all phones in the PA area? In checking her settings regarding call forward types they are all set to not active for always/busyint/busyext/no answer...
The user doesnt belong in the general PA pickup group but is within her new teams pickup. Can you advise any more from this additional info?

Thanks in advance!

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Mitel 3300 phone feature query
« on: July 23, 2014, 09:37:13 AM »
Hi,

We have a Mitel 3300 phone system and 5312 handsets.

One of our PA's has moved depts to a new team. She was originally in the PA pickup group but have triple checked and she is no longer in this.
The PA's are saying that calls to this person are still coming through, i've checked that this person has call fwd to voice mail off and if busy etc.. etc.. all to not assigned. Is there any other group/feature? I've checked the 12 feature keys on the 5312 and they are the generic call fwd/pickup/call history and a few configured as quick dials of managers mobiles.

Is there a command or something that i can identify the problem or a way of resolving this?

Kind regards
