Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Clustering 3 systems
« on: April 26, 2016, 04:37:54 AM »
I've had that problem a couple of times.
It was always that I screwed up the IP address in the XNET forms.

Ralph

I concur with Ralph here. If you have consoles and experience issues it definitely might be in the ICP/PBX Networking page.

Also if before there were only 2 Mitels in a cluster it might also be that in the previous setup both Mitels used only 1 line in the IP/XNET Profiles page, where they referred to eachother. In the new setup I would keep it simple as in attached screenshot.

I assume the COS options for the Trunk and phones are checked already?

Hi Rixy,

Have you looked into the SDP options as well? You show a scenario where when you force a re-invite (hold/unhold etc) the RTP stream comes back.

The following options are to me usually a default concerning rtp. In the past we had the same issues on certain trunks. By using these options I was in some cases able to solve the audio issues.

Avoid Signaling Hold to the Peer - Yes
Force sending SDP in initial Invite message - Yes
Limit to one Offer/Answer per INVITE - Yes
NAT Keepalive - Yes
Prevent the Use of IP Address 0.0.0.0 in SDP Messages - Yes

And with re-invites the following option might have influence as well but thats from experience since providers I have made connections to don't usually like the Mitel to send inactive.
Suppress Use of SDP Inactive Media Streams - Yes

Let me know if this helps, but you might have probably set these already or have tried them :) and yes MBG makes everything a lot easier :)

Cheers

We usually use third party software which we let connect to the Mitel on port 1752. If SMDR options have been configured the way you want that port will output the SMDR data. You could record this data into a selfmade database as well although I have no experience with that.

Without resorting to ACD functionality, I believe MiContact Center v8 also allows for extended extension reporting as well. But I myself still have to look into that one. Aside that MiCC also has a business reporter option but I have never used it since as said we use third party software for it.

I hope this helps.

As Ace indicated migrating to SIP needs a couple of variables before it works correctly. So without looking to many details (and thus making many assumptions unfortunately)

If you answer a DID call from SIP to internal Phone can you maintain a call for 30 mins.? Its usually a test I do to see if the session timer works correctly. Aside from that if signaling is fine but RTP doesnt work fine I start looking at the SDP options as well. Conferencing and Hold retrieve from hold usually give a quick indicatation if invites and Re-invites work correctly.

Usually after confirming that all the basic functions work I would look into the routing you need.

Usually with no RTP in my experience in most cases I have look at:

SIP Peer profile SDP Options
Avoid Signaling Hold to the Peer - Yes
Suppress Use of SDP Inactive Media Streams - Yes
Prevent the Use of IP Address 0.0.0.0 in SDP Messages - Yes

Also if your provider supports PRACK enable it on MBG and Mitel.

I hope this info helps a bit but your description of the issue can be in a lot of things and putting them down all means a wall of tekst.

In my experience the best approach is to use a certified trunk. In that case the settings are qualified for various uses and available via the Mitel website and/or provider of your SIP trunk. Using those settings should result in a working setup.

My experience with the IP Page units is that I have to agree on the old options I am afraid. I did a rollout last december and I used the customers Windows DHCP to provide the service but with only the 125 option they wouldn't start up. When we added the old options the units work like a charm. The Cisco's they use let the phones auto hop and use 125 options and I believe they have the page units connected to untagged ports with a relay to the windows DHCP using the old options.

Since we are talking about the 5485 units, one issue I am currently having with these is that whenever they lose connection even though for less then a second, you have to manually hard reset them to restart them is my experience. I wish they would auto return to service like the normal phones do.

Also the environment I programmed them is a resilient environment and the units don't support resiliency. I tried to cheat with creating local-only units in order to make routes to the group pages the same in both controllers (this will make sure SDS doesnt crash on the group page buttons you see :P ) but even with a resilient operation I first need to reboot them to get them to work.

We are even looking into using analog relais in order to reset those units remotely if need be but maybe I am missing something :P

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: BRI Idle State channel
« on: March 18, 2016, 09:55:39 AM »
Hi Nico,

If you want to check link status for BRI I Always use:

EDT SHOW LINK STATUS BRI

As far as I know in Europe if you have a point-to-point T(runk) configured BRI the channel should go down in the command when you remove it.

The old Christmas tree :) In the class of service of the use in question you can set "use green light for logged in hotdesk user" (or something) to make it not blink but be disabled if logged out and green if logged in.

If you have made an external hotdesk user and permanent login is set to no the external device is not logged in when you program. Depending on the config it is possible to activate login from ESM. You only need to create a COS for external hotdesk users and set permanent login to no. Change it again and set it to yes. All devices using that specific COS will be logged in immediately :)

Depending on how you deploy that last trick might be handy but if you have 300 EHDU's and you dont want them all logged in then be careful :)

Removing all remote busy lamps works too but if you use consoles that will disable them to see statusses of various users.

Never heard of that before but in order to approach a possibility...

After you are unable to reach the page can you still ping the PBX? I assume phones work normally?

1.
Do the switches handle tagging or does the Mitel do this. The first I would say is recommended but that aside if VLAN is done by the switch the vlan should be disabled on the Mitel.

2.
If you connect your laptop to the MXe's secondary LAN port can you then connect? (This can be done after the MXe is booted since its not active right away. Also the Layer 2 switch in the IP options should been have given an IP but I assume most techs configure that by default.

3.
I think have only experienced once the webserver needed a restart which you can do through VXworks shell. I think it had to do with a bug with the software but I can not really remember.

4.
Use your laptops COM port and connect. For me default values work in PuTTY as far as I know.

But all this aside have you contacted your Mitel's service provider for this issue? They should be able to help you with this if you have a SLA with them??

Why not use the management subroutine in YSE. If you tweak it a bit you can overwrite existing prompts using menu options. Just remove the date time stamp option and define the file output.

If you want to use external files then there might be a better way in my option. Yoursite has a crafty way of importing and immediately converting audio files  8). What I normally do is as follows:

1. In the workflow I make a play option.
2. After that I do a quick add and make sure I have the file in a separate folder renamed to something logical eg Company_Closed Hours_YYMMDD.*
3. If YSE is able to handle the file extension the prompt will be saved.
4. It will give you a popup and you have to create a new prompt. Give it a nice name like in step 2.
5. After that the file will be placed in IVR\Media\Customer\Language folder
6. Check the language it is saved under. Should be the same as your flow is set to. I Always define language on the top of every workflow as a default.

If the language is the same and YSE was able to convert the file then it show play straight away.

I dont know about WMA but I have been able to do so with .WAVs recorded at 44kHz etc.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: MiCC - CCMWeb - Scheduled Reports

Up till 5.8 you could use the website, but from v6 on Enterprise settings like SMTP is set in the YSE as far as I remember. If someone thinks I am wrong let me know.

SIP On Mitel / Re: Mitel 5624 register handset
« on: March 17, 2016, 06:16:35 AM »
Hi John,

After reading your post I am wondering about something. Do you also have the USB cradle available (needed for the programming software) and connected to your pc/laptop?

28
When configs involving ACD get a bit more complex I usually vouch for looking into using CCM/IVR for in depth routing during day/night and Multi site in order to keep things simple while having a (depending on license) diverse toolbox to service the various needs.

Hi Mark,

Could you elaborate a bit about the issues/symptoms exactly?

- What happens when people login/logout?
- What happens when they try to transfer?
- What happens when they try to set busy codes?

Thanks

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: auto hotdesk on UCA login
« on: August 09, 2013, 08:46:10 AM »
Not sure if this answer is what you look for but I think it can not be done without 3rd party software. I will explain with a scenario to see if this is what you look for.

We have a customer using RFID tokens to enter the building but also login at PC's. If they walk away the PC will auto lock etc.

When they put down the token, it will auto login their desktop with their profile, as well as phone and UCA.

You need 3rd party software to auto login the phone to that user's suername. Also you need 3rd party software to script UCA auto login. But from what I heard the UCA is a bit tricky since the 3rd party software will have to identify/capture the different overlayed screens UCA uses in order to login correctly or at least thats what they told me but it can be done.

The whole script logins the Hotdesker first and then it logs in the UCA since UCA prefers the default device to be active and it avoids confusion for the user.

Logging out people is easy though since it can be scheduled.
