MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: DHCP Options
« on: November 22, 2021, 07:29:39 PM »
Hi acejavelin,

Thanks for your suggestion.

With regards to the DHCP options, does it mean that we can disregard Options 125,128,129 and 130?

Thanks,
Josh

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / DHCP Options
« on: November 21, 2021, 09:05:26 PM »
Hi,

Just need  some help on this.

We have a customer that have got DHCP enabled on the MiVoice Office 250 however they want to turn DHCP OFF on the phone system and want all their phones to use their  other DHCP server. Basically they only have one network but with 2 DHCP servers which is not ideal and I am not sure why it was set up this way. Just to give a brief overview, the Mitel 250 IP is 10.0.0.150 and the IP range of its DHCP is from 10.0.0.151 - 10.0.0.198 so all phones IP are in that range. Their router's IP range ends at 10.0.0.149 and I am thinking this needs to be expanded to cater for the phones.

What would be the easiest way to move the phones to the new DHCP server without causing too much hassle and what would be the required DHCP options that need to be set up on that DHCP server in order for the phones to work properly. Please note that all the phones are Mitel 5300 series phones (no 6900 phones)

Appreciate any help on this.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi,

I set up a Group Pickup button on a 6940 phone to pick up calls from a Hunt Group whenever the members are busy however for some reason whenever the user presses the pickup button, he gets a "call failed" message.

Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi,

Just wondering if someone has come across an issue whereby a 6940 phone is not showing missed external calls.

This is affecting one user only in this company and I have reset the phone to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi,

I  set up a call forwarding from a DID to mobile in the system by creating a phantom extension and then using the On-Line monitor tool to configure the relevant settings in Forward Information directory.

While I am happy that calls are being forwarded to the mobile, it does take time though for the mobile to actually ring when someone calls  the DID. It rings about 7 times on the caller's end before the mobile starts ringing.

Is there any timer settings that I need to change on the DB to enable the call to instantly hit the mobile?

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi,

I have managed to find a solution to this so I just thought of sharing it in case anyone runs into the same issue later on.

There was nothing wrong in the DB settings. The only change I had to make was to disable "Use different SIP Ports” in Network menu of the base station and that fixed the issue. I was advised by Mitel to enable it when I asked them however for some reason it was already enabled and disabling it fixed the issue for me.

Hope it helps someone who is facing the same issue.

Thanks

Hi,

I set up a remote Mitel 112 Single-Cell DECT phone for one of our customers remote sites. They already have a 5330 teleworker phone set up and its working okay.

However there is an issue with the DECT phone, it cannot receive inbound calls. When the 5330 phone calls the DECT, it came up with "Not in Service"on the 5330 screen. The DECT phone is able to make outbound calls though. In the base station web interface, its showing as "SIP Registered"so I am assuming the set up on the base station is okay.

Can anyone please advise if there is a setting on the DB (or the base station) that I need to check?

Appreciate any feedback.

thanks,
Josh

 Hi TE,

The steps you outlined earlier worked really well for 53xx phones however it doesnt seem to be working for 69xx phones.

Is there a change that needs to done on the MCS as well?

Thanks,
Josh

Hi,

I am trying to work out how to set up a phone (just one phone) so that if someone wants to dial out externally from it, he or she will need to enter a PIN first.

Is there any particular settings on the DB that I need to be looking at for that particular extension?

Appreciate any help on this.

Thanks,
Josh

Hi,

This has been resolved.

I had forgotten to enter the Calling number on that particular extension so once entered,  it started working.

Thanks

Hi,

I recently set up a new 5330 phone for one of our customers. The issue with this phone is that it can only receive calls however when dialing out, it comes up with the message “Your call cannot be completed at this time”.  Now all other 5330 phones in the same office have no issues at all when dialing out.

I checked the associated extensions of the phone that is having that issue and its using the same Trunk that the working phones are using.
I assume its not a trunk issue since the rest of the phones are working okay.

Do I have to change something in the DB for that particular extension / phone?

Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Networked sites

Hi

I have networked 2 nodes together and have imported extensions across on both nodes.

The thing is when users from Node 1 dials Node 2 users, there is no issue at all however when Node 2 users dial Node 1 users, it comes up with "Invalid Extension"

Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks,
Josh
