Title: 5320 Boot failure
Post by: ralph on August 23, 2012, 10:55:57 AM
Here's one I haven't seen.
Mitel 5320 phone registered to a vMCD.
Multiple remote controllers:  All ver 5.0 - all phones register to central vMCD.

Only a handful of phones do this and then only at 1 remote site.  Move the phone to any other site and it works fine.
When booting the phone give and error:

Exception 2, TLB (load or instr fetch) @00000010, Task: tNetTask, TiD:0x947bed20, Stack usage:  5%,  SP 0x947bf1a8, Cause: 0x1000c01, Bad 0x00000010, 05.01.00.16

Data switch has been rebooted (think ARP issue).   Connect another phone to the same data switch port and it works fine.
Connect the bad phone to a known good phone it still fails.   Move the phone to another remote site and it works fine.

There's around 7 phones doing this.
Has anyone seen this error.

Ralph

Haven't seen this one exactly, but sometimes when sets do weird, flaky things and there is no other obvious explanation I go into the menus and reset the phone back to factory defaults... it's about a 50/50 shot that it actually works, but maybe just a set of bad phones or possibly when they were downloading the new firmware initially there was a hiccup in the pipe and they got corrupt firmware? Just a couple thoughts.

Getting this exact same issue at a 5000 site installtion today that had been working fine for a couple years after they replaced a router, except my phones are all 5360's... did you ever find an answer to this issue?

I guess the data wiring can be ruled out because it happens right at the switch port, right?

Have you tried resetting the phone?

Turns out the router was handing out DHCP including Option 43 to the phones, and once they sent me a pic of the phone in a failed state I knew the error immediately, had them put the phones in Teleworker mode and key in the 5000's IP address and got them up and working. Option 43 was corrupt or invalid...
