6.2 SP2 PR3 is now available on the FTP site.   They say it maintains the new security scripts but does not affect system performance.

Thanks for the replies!   I am having the customer press and hold the test button to force the unit to self test, and see if the Controller resets then.

Hopefully that puts enough stress on the UPS that if it is bad, it causes a failure to connected devices.

What is the Outgoing Extension of the phone?   Devices and Feature Codes, Phones, [phone],  Associated Destinations?

If ARS,  (green jewel)  you'll need to check facility and route groups to make sure the international pattern is there.  If it's missing I can get you the dial pattern.

If a regular trunk group, are you certain they are dialing 8 011 ?

Looks like they are connected to the battery-side of a APC Back-UPS Pro 1500VA.

TE, would this not filter out unclean "waves" from the power company?  I thought only more expensive units did that.

Thanks TE,  I never thought of that

On the back of the chassis is an aux ethernet port that is bridged to the LAN port.  Connect up to this and run a wireshark capture, wait for the failure, then start at the bottom of the capture and start moving your way up for clues.

What software revision is the controller running?

Happens every few days.  First I checked the database audit log to make sure nobody connected to the system to do the DB restore. Then I double checked major reset scheduling to make sure that was all disabled.    Then I pulled the system log and found these entries at the time of the reset (attached)

Does that mean my DB is corrupt?

In the 3300 check the COS for an option, I think it named ANI display number only   or something close to that.   If not enabled, the user can hit a softkey (depending on phone model)  to toggle between name and number.   If your phone has a big enough display, you may get both, otherwise you'll get a softkey, or just the name.

In the 5000 there is a phone flag,  Display Outside Name.  If it's set to Yes I think you can toggle with feature 379, if set to no I think you just get the number.

Mitel says they will have this fixed in 6.2 SP2 PR3, slated for release yet in July.  They say the firewall rules will be preserved but the CPU will not be impacted.

I've updated my ticket with Mitel asking if there's a way to make it persistent in the mean time.  Jeff is looking into it, I will let you know what his response is.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: TA7102 with an analog fax on it

Keep in mind once past the TA7102 it's SIP,  so you'll want to turn off ECM (error correction) in the fax machine as well as lower the fax speed to no more than 9600

Mitel SX200, SX2000, and older SX platforms / Re: Superconsole 1000
« on: July 14, 2017, 03:56:49 PM »
Since you have an SC1000 console I am making the assumption you have an SX-200 or an SX-200 ICP system.  Also assumed is that you have the Express Messenger voicemail.  You can determine this by looking at the bays and see if one of the cards says Express Messenger.   With these assumptions in mind:

Look through any papers or docs left behind by the owner for passcodes. You will need to get into mailbox 999 (or 9999)  to change the greetings.   If there is a voicemail button on a phone, press that first, then hit star until she asks for the mailbox number.  Then input 9's.   At that point you will need to put in the admin, manager, or technician passcode.

There may be a passcode that was left at default, you can PM me as I cannot post those in an open forum.

To change call routing, you really will need an installer's assistance with either a laptop plugged into the system, or by dialing into the onsite modem (if any).  Even to get the modem info documented, I believe an onsite visit may be required.

Thanks johnp,

I finally just deleted the menu node, rolled up my sleeves and used tenant restriction instead.  I had gotten a little gun shy with that because when I tried it all by myself, auto attendant didn't work, so I knew I was doing it wrong.  Fred (fifty5footer)  showed me the light.

Thanks for the info sarond.   I would bet Mitel will be issuing a patch for this, hopefully soon.
Unfortunately without root privileges we wouldn't be able to tell iptables to make anything persistent, and Mitel is running a script at boot time to set up the rules.

I have one site that is unbearable with the iptables rules.  Good thing they usually have high uptime.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: SIP Trunks inbound calls failing
« on: July 14, 2017, 02:52:40 PM »
You may have to create a new Call Configuration, keep all defaults except change the DTMF to RFC  (not G.711), then assign your SIP Phone Group to use call configuration 3.   This lets audio be G.711 but DTMF be RFC.

Charter wasn't letting calls inbound without last time I set up SIP trunks.
