So we had one of our users put in an odd request...is there a way to keep the phone from ringing when they are on another line on speakerphone? One method that I thought might work was enabling DND before you make a call, but 1) Not even sure if that would work - I'll test it. 2) If she answers a call and then tries to enable it, I'm not sure you can do that.

Figured I'd post on here and see if anybody has done this before. I did a search but nothing came up.

Thanks!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / One user not receiving VM emails
« on: June 10, 2020, 04:23:14 PM »
I tried troubleshooting this myself before coming here, but I'm out of steps to try. We have VM email forwarding set up for a couple of our users in our Mitel 250 system. A couple of months ago it stopped working (I think it was when we upgraded from 5000 to 250), but then a few weeks back it randomly started working again. However, there is one user that is still not receiving emails. Here are some things I checked:

- If I go to edit the user, I see the email sync settings are correct - Forward & Copy and MP3 as the format.
- This user didn't have a login password (which I would always see a message about when loading up DB Programming), so I set a password for his user account thinking maybe there was some security preventing email forwarding from functioning. Regardless if that's true or not, it didn't make a difference.
- I tried deleting some potential "ghost" spaces in his email address field just to make sure there wasn't an extra space at the end that was throwing anything off.
- His Email Sync with MWI Client is set to Yes, while two other users' whose VM email forwarding works is set to No. I didn't want to change that setting because I didn't want to screw anything up since the user we're dealing with is high on the food chain. I wouldn't think that would make a difference anyway, would it?

And that's where I'm at. I was looking all around for other settings but nothing stuck out to me.

Thank you for your help in advance!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / 5360 Current Model/Upgrades?
« on: March 26, 2020, 11:29:06 AM »
Hello,

We are potentially looking to purchase some new Mitel phones for our sales team. Some of our users currently have the Mitel 5360, so we would be interested in seeing what the current model or comparable handset to that phone would be. We’d also like to be able to use the wireless DECT handsets with the new phones. Would someone possibly be able to make some recommendations please?

Thank you!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / No commas/periods in certain fields
« on: December 09, 2019, 12:54:41 PM »
Good afternoon,

I’m working in MiVoice Office 250 DB Programming (we recently upgraded) and noticed the system does not accept commas and other symbols in the Description and Username fields. The previous version accepted those characters. I searched the help topic within the system and Mitel states to not use control characters in the Description and Username fields, but I don't believe those are control characters. Has anyone else run into this?

Thanks in advance!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mass change subnet mask remotely?
« on: February 06, 2019, 03:40:59 PM »
Hello All,

Long story short: This upcoming weekend we're re-addressing our entire network scheme. All of our phones are set to DHCP. Most of our models are 5320/5330. As a result of this project, we'll have to change the subnet mask on each phone. Is there anyway to do this remotely for all of the phones? We have about 50+ phones and I'd love to not have to go to each one just to change an IP setting.

Phone system we're using is Mitel 5000.

Thank you in advance for the hopefully good news!

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Rebooting phone system weekly?
« on: August 03, 2018, 01:13:59 PM »
Hello All,

Our phone system is scheduled to restart once a week. I believe our contractor who originally set the system up was the one who scheduled it. I was just curious as to why they may have done this? It's a bit annoying as the reboot wipes away the call history on all of our phones. If it's a necessary evil then it's not a big deal, but I was hoping maybe someone could possibly share the logic behind restarting it once a week. Maybe it's good practice to clear the cache out or something?

Thanks

I've been trying to fix this for a while now and I'm basically at a standstill. If you call this certain phone extension and no one picks up after a couple rings, it forwards to the attendant. We do not want that for this extension. We just want the phone to continuously ring if no one answers. Trying to be somewhat logical, I identify two existing phone extensions that will continue to ring if no one picks up. I figured if I just compare and contrast the phone's settings to the two I want it to behave like, I would see what the difference is. I assumed it had something to do with Forwarding Paths.

Well, I feel like I've checked just about every setting there is, and I CANNOT find the difference. I'm looking under System > Devices and Feature Codes > Phones > Local, and looking at the specific extension's properties. I'm about to just copy the configuration of one of the working extensions to the one I'm trying to change and be done with it. But now it's bugged me so much that I'm genuinely curious what I'm missing.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks

If a caller let's it go to my voicemail greeting but does not leave a message, my phone will still say I have a new voicemail. When I go to access my voicemail, there will be a 2 second message and it just says "No message left".

Has anyone else run into this? This is only happening with a few of our users. Not all phones do this.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Integrating with microphones?
« on: February 27, 2017, 04:31:32 PM »
I'm going to throw this out there and see if anyone has any experience with this...

Our company ordered a new conference room table that has built-in microphones at each seat. I don't have that much information on the table or microphones at the moment. I was wondering if there was any way we could integrate them into our phone system? Maybe it's as simple as there being some microphone switch box or something like that? I did a little research and couldn't find anything so I figured I'd ask you guys.

Thanks

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Can't conference calls together
« on: February 22, 2017, 08:45:08 AM »
Hi all - first time poster here! My manager wants to hand off some of his phone system responsibilities to me, so I'm probably going to make myself comfortable on these forums ha!

I was wondering if you guys could help me out with my first problem. I'm still learning about Mitel phone systems so forgive me if my verbiage seems amateurish...

The issue is we cannot conference two calls together. I have phone training scheduled next week to teach users how to use their phones so I created a PowerPoint which covers basic call functions. Yesterday, I figured I'd run through all the slides to make sure everything I was going to demonstrate works, and of course I come to find conferencing calls isn't working. I know I tested this out last week and it worked. I'm not sure what changed. When you go to conference the two calls together, it just drops the one call.

For example, I'm connected to my first caller. I press the transfer/conference button, and 'Transfer Call to Extension' appears on the phone screen. I dial the second party's number and they answer. If I hit the transfer/conference button again, it disconnects the second party's call. I've tested this with several different phones to rule out the possibility of it being an issue with my specific phone. My manager looked inside the DB Programming to see if there were any flags or something related to Conferencing that was disabled, but everything seemed OK.

Our phone system is a Mitel 5000 and a majority of our phone models are 5320/5330.

Has anyone ran into this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
